Connie, she is not limping as bad tha last 2 days, most likely from the meds, still keeping her quite. I am going to call my vet Monday and schedule an appointment, so we can sit down and just go over the x rays and blood work in detail in a way I understand. Untill the appointment no changes in diet.
Vet called yesterday and left a message and said we should switch her to kibble and add "tums with calcium". This is what I am paying for. I still want a sit down appointment but I am definetly calling the Holistic Vet that Joyce has recommended.
Geez Frank, you have every right to expect better from your vet.
With so little testing and just one x-ray, it sure feels like a giant leap in judgement in diagnosis, lacking concrete evidence.
JMHO.
I will be very interested in hearing what Dr. Bozeman thinks of all this.
Very interested in all updates Frank. Hang in there!

I was also told that calcium supplements would not help in this case but only make it worse?????
Frank, MHO is that you dodged a bullet when you called for explanations and were unable to get any, causing you to realize what kind of person you were dealing with. So much in this thread about what the vet said made no sense.
You were so right to investigate.
BTW, you know not to add calcium (including Tums) to a commercial kibble, I'm sure, but I'm adding it for anyone else who may be reading.
Hi Frank, just wondering how things are going with your dog and what is the latest with her health.
I have been wondering about you guys, let us know how she is and if you did get the chance to get a second opinion.
