Yes, but not everyone who talks the talk, walks the walk. I've seen many purebreds go to shelters and the breeder say "not my problem" Its uplifting to know there are breeders who carry a lifelong commitment to all their dogs.
Yes! In my family, including my parents only 1 out of the 4 purebreds have a breeder to go back to. 2 were sold and ended up in a shelter situation (you all have heard how Tanner came to be with my mom... no one who knew his puppy breath stepped up for him when he was tortured) and Bella's breeder would only do a return if the dog was still intact (even though all the puppies were very poor quality now that I look back and am smarter!)
