Amber doesn't roll over either but... she does take medication on command. I taught my last dog and her to open their mouths when I say, Say Ah, then just drop pills into the gaping hole, they swallow and poof gone. Makes giving meds so much easier.
thats a great idea!

.... Mr. Peabody (the Pinker) is getting better about sitting next to you without wiggling and weasling. ... He can be touched everywhere now by pretty much anyone. ...
This is amazing. This is a 180 turnaround!

Well, agility got rained out and everyone had their sad face on but we got to try out the new backpack with some cans of spaghetti sauce in it for weight* and that went well. Still making progress on the loose-leash walking with flat collar around off-leash dogs but Duke did very well.
Chance is going stir crazy (whine whine whine whine) with crate confinement which is making my husband stir crazy. We're going through frozen Kongs and peanut butter stuffed chewies like crazy and this dog will be pear-shaped before the 9 weeks is up if I'm not careful!
*I know that in a way, weighting a pack for a walk in order to burn off more energy is cheating - but it does allow me to walk Duke and the human kids at the same time

I am actually re-reading your prey thread thinking of ways to try and get him to tug with me, but we'll have plenty of time to work on that.
Do you have a link to that thread? Carlin will tug with me for 20 minutes+ (he would go longer if I let him, but most often they are several short sessions ending with him wanting more) in the house or backyard with tons of intensity, automatic re-engagement, and sharp focus. However, anywhere else and the tug becomes non-existent in his eyes, although I can get very good focus with food.
At home, a toy is almost equal value (and often MORE valuable) to Carlin than real meat or cheese, but outside (of the backyard) treats and sniffs reign supreme.
I think I've gotten him to engage with a toy (again, food engagement under distractions is easy with him) maybe 3 or 4 times EVER anywhere outside of the house/backyard. In those few instances, it was only after ~an hour of being there, once everything was sniffed and he was bored.

We are doing a pretend OB competition as part of our final class for this training session tonight. This will be where I see how well Sasha is doing with her automatic sits. I'll report back with our score later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Just ordered a level 2 synthetic sleeve for my pup. Need to get back into his bite work after a long "vacation" while teething was happening. I hope to have his bite full and intense by the time we start going back out to the local club in a month. We also need to work on the foose (heel) while turning, as when I turn he moves about 2 feet away from my side. Other than that just keep up with the daily training sessions to reinforce all previously learned commands.

I am starting "from scratch" with a 2 year old GSD, Sabor, as we just got him Sunday from the rescue. We're starting with Pack Structure but I think he's doing very well overall - crates well, is learning door manners, etc. The only time we have issues is when the cats walk by but even that is getting better. Oh and he almost took me off my feet yesterday when a squirrel ran through our yard - prey drive, much? LOL! Other than that we're doing OK so with the isolation phase.

Awesome idea. That's a new one on me but how handy that would be! :-)
