How did posts pretime my post? There appears to be posts that mysteriously materialized prior to my post that were not there when I posted. Just curious.
Interesting to me because at least one post would have mitigated my post if not precluded it.
Ah well.

Back on topic, what does the gender of the shirt's designer have to do with the price of tea in China?
nothing to do with china tea prices that I can see, but to the topic under discussion I would have thought the link to be self evident?
Peter, the phrase I used is common in the US to imply that something is irrelevant to the matter at hand. Maybe it's not commonly used in Australia. Sorry for any confusion. I should have just come out and said I don't believe the gender of the designer has anything to do with whether some (many?) folks would find it offensive. You clearly think there is a connection, but I'm fine if we just agree to disagree.

Mike, I wonder if you might be referring to my post, since it's the one closest in time to yours, back on the first page of this thread. I see mine shows a time eleven minutes prior to yours. I can tell you that, from the time I first started to compose it to the time I actually posted it was probably at least, if not more than, eleven minutes. (I got distracted and stepped away from the computer for a while.)
So, although I've never paid much attention to the times that appear with our posts, I wonder if they reflect the time that we started to compose our replies as opposed to the time we actually hit "Submit."
That's just a guess. Maybe Connie knows the answer?
No, the time that was entered was the time you clicked submit, or at least when the host server received the signal. If there was a processor interruption, a bad connection, or a busy server timing out, it might cause a built-in delay in the posting, my guess is either Mike didn't submit immediately, or his server timed out and automatically resent the message.
Ever had a duplicate post because the first time you clicked "submit", it didn't seem to take and you clicked again, but when your reply finally went through, you had posted multiple copies of the same response? Same thing
