ian bunbury Webboard User Reg: 01-19-2012 Posts: 685 Loc: whistler bc ca Offline	michaels' method determines the minimum stim levels by observing the dog , then conditions the dog to the sensation by performing two sets of behaviours . a recall , with a quick " nick " at the same time leash pressure ( long line ) is applied , and a recall where a random stim is applied on " continous " simultaneously with leash pressure . the first sign of compliance turns off the stim . in addition , he uses the touch pad , using the same protocols as above . these two behaviours cover the dog coming towards you , and the dog going away from you as well as the dog moving away from the direction of the sensation and moving into the direction of the sensation . the " nick " set is the " reminder " application , and the " continous " set teaches the dog how to turn off pressure . really too bad steve couldn't have made it because i can't imagine undertaking this kind of work without the expert eye of someone with the skills of michael overseeing these very important introductory stages . dogs : the best part of being human
