The difference between males and female dogs fighting can make a difference in how this may go in the long run.
Males fight for dominance, food, territory and sex.
Once they decide who gets what hey want it can often be over.
Females that fight seem to hold a grudge and it may last a lifetime.
Not a joke or a dumb sexist remark. It's fact!
YESSIRREE Bob, and in the Akita & Basenji breeds, bitches & spays definitely FIGHT to KILL (Of course, some of the males do likewise!) They will NEVER forget a Grudge -- Either sex can & will Fight over Anything, but in all breeds there's nothing worse than a Bitch Fight, that's for sure...

I would strongly agree on the differences between male and female dog quarrels. Males do fight and decide the pecking order -- but once established, in the absence of a new thing introduced, a bone, a toy or access to some place or person -- the order is the order, and there likely is no more fighting.
With bitches, it never ends.

I've had 2-3-4 intact dogs at a time most of my life.
My "packs" have always ran together unless a female would be in season.
In these "packs" I've always avoided having more then one female at a time for this very reason.
In those instances the "dominant" male was always obvious yet I never had any serious fights in my "packs".
Pack structure was always evident and I was always at the top.

I equate it to a bar fight.
With men it usually stops with one saying uncle. They may even buy one another a round when it's over.
Women want to humiliate one another. Rip and tear till they have to be pulled apart.
From then on it's hate.
I've heard this somewhere. Just can't remember where.
I'm old ya know!

Hey,hey, hey, Bob!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a prejudice and
generalization. This all may happen, sure, but it's not a question of men or wimmins!
I've never experienced a bar fight, but quarreling, arguing in other surroundings. Twice it happened between two men, whom afterwards for a lifetime never spoke to each other any more. The same happened once with two women.
I personnally have never been able to hold a grudge for more than two days and hate I developped not a single time. In the same manner I experienced most of other women whom had a hot confrontaton, me included. We also buy each other a round or do something similar as a sign of reconciliation.
Know what? I bet, your again just kidding.
Old, ok, but still a funny little rascal! Your 70, I'm 74, so you could be my little brother.
Pity, that we can't buy each other some rounds!

My ability to hold a grudge is legendary.. or was getting better as I age and understand that when you care that much, you are giving the 'grudgee' actual power over your life. Not a fan of that, personally. Not caring relieves me of the burden of carrying that grudge around. I save my hate for foreign dictators who cause people to live miserable lives.

Well, I don't have any first-hand knowledge of "bar brawls" between drunk guys, Christina -- However, I do think that most men tend to ADMIRE physical strength & courage even in fellows who beat them in a fight ... But you can take our word for the fact that in Canine Society a bitch brawl is DEADLY SERIOUS and the combatants are likely to "Despise" one another for the rest of their lives

Yes, Bob, this i do believe in between. I was not aware of it, when we bought the two Pit sisters, and they do go on with each other well. Probably because they were together from the very beginning.
The third one, was an adopted stray, female too, and they had strangely no problems with each other. But she died because of a Vet's mistake.
Then came our Lab-Mix,female, also an adopted stray and after some time quietly living together, began the attacks from the more dominant Pit.
When we later adopted a male stray, she seemed to accept him for a certain time. But after the first attack of her he doesn´t go near to her, even if she is on a chain.
What I dont understand is why her sister doesn't attack the female Lab-Mix, plays with her in a friendly and funny way. They never had the least fight, but when her sister attacked her, she solidarisized with her. That's something I simply don't get.
