The dog MUST learn to respect the kids just as well, if not more then the adults!!!

Sometimes I think he prefers them to me!

He does very well around my kids. I would not trust him off leash around strange kids.

With my kids, he wiggles his bum and licks their pants, all four on the floor, until he realizes they are ignoring him. Than he flops down with a bang on the floor.

I have taught the kids to take their space, which works well here. He does not enter their rooms, just watches them from outside the door.

My kids are not as nice. New puppy syndrome wore off, and they may laugh at his antics, but do not spend any time with him unless made to do so.

I have abandoned the Oes site. I was belittled for running Harry free, was told pups should never run,and that doggy day care is a better option. One insisted i am an idiot for allowing him to run period. With that and the fact no one ever answered my questions specific to the breed, I was tired of hearing ways to either halti train, or allow the breed to misbehave because it's a part of their nature.
I have had more educated help from you awesome people, and none of my questions are ridiculed.

The woman was mad to think I over exercise Harry. If lucky he runs ten min , and our walk is morethan an hour later.
And our walks have so many stops, tug play and marker training , that the only one tired is me!

So with that,I thank each of you, for your excellent advice, ears to here whining , and more. You be helped me become a better person, to understand my pup, and the essentials to rearing a great, happy, healthy living boy!

1) I'm sure he's good with your kids, I simply would not trust him to give up Bully Stix to them...

2) That OES site is most likely full of show-line Owners Not all that much to learn there probably.

Agreed Candi. He will not get any high value chews outside of the crate and porch.

The site is mostly family pets. But they excuse bad behaviour, and would rather ban a guest in their hone rather than use a correction.
Almost all allow jumping, barking and do not like prong collars. Pawing is considered cute. And almost all free feed. It is not the site . I would rather put the brakes on bad behaviour early, and have a behaved loose dog in my home I can trust rather than having to worry that he will be a clown and knock over a visitor, or try to bite car tires.

I think that is why my questions are unanswered there. Positive reinforcement works for pups, but not for unruly 5-8 yr old adults!
