Got it the first try. It was the ugliest one. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I love the breed!
this is for vancamp robert you said to give you proof here it is and dont go saying i want to see it in writing and its not in my country and what not these are the facts and i saw the actual bites by breed stats somewher but i cant fnd them again thats what i was looking for before, so watch the top one about micheal bryant and listen carefully turn the volume up.
i seem to have lost the jist of this thread. are we trying to villify pit bulls, or justify pit bulls?anyone who trys to tell me that a pit is "just another breed", is full of it. SOME pits (where blood lines are correct) make decent dogs. most are bred to bolster their owner's "bad-a-s image" ,and to intimidate police officials who come to investigate suspected drug sales. just my living observation, here in "south texas".
John, my family has had pits off and on for years. My daughter has one now, as does my brother. His we "confiscated" from dog fighters. In spite of a broken leg, a .22 bullet in her neck, and head injury that causes her right eye to dialate when she gets excited, she's a fantastic, sweet little red nose. The Schutzhund club I belong to has 5-6 gamebred pits and they do a very nice job, on the field, all motivationally trained. I do love the breed, but it is just another breed. Now if ya wanna talk special dogs, WORKING GSD's ROCK! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
The number of APBTs when compared to the number of bites constituded a higher percentage of incidences.
There may have been 30 GSD bites and 26 APBT bites, but if there are 30,000 APBTs and 100,000 GSDs. . .what does that tell you?
Like I said before, show me the number of GSDs, show me the number of APBTs, and then show me the bite statistics. Those are the only figures that would be meaningfull. Then throw on the severity of the incidences. . .then try to tell me that GSDs are a more dangerous breed than APBTs.
Don't they teach math in Canada? You seem to me to be exactly the type of person who shouldn't own an APBT. You're at a serious mental disadvantage.
Not to mention. . .you're preaching to the choir. I don't want anyone to ban ANY breed of dog. People should be able to own whatever type of animals they want. Governments should just pass -F- death penalty punishments for people who's dogs attack and hurt children.
I'd be all for that.
Why don't you educate yourself so that you can intelligently defend your breed from the jackasses who want to ban it. . .rather than making inaccurate statements on a webboard FULL of people who agree with you.
Either that or try to get all the druggy dealer gangsta redneck scumbag criminals to get rid of their APBTs. That's where most of your public image issues are coming from.
whatever man he even said him self this is coming from what hes been told just like im telling you so doesnt it seem odd he can pass legislation on something that he really knows nothing about? man grow up insulting people like a 5 year old, the fact is that german shepherds bit more people, they cause more families to suffer than pitbulls did you think the families who have lost loved one give to sh!ts about how many bites there were per population, i think your just bothered that i found proof, if you support the pitbull why would you get so mad over me providing information that another breed of dog cause more deaths. you say im doing the opposite from standing up for the breed i think i am, and i agree with you that the drug dealers, thugs, and dogfighters need to be cracked down on, they ruin this great breed. say what you will but im not going to fight about it anymore, i said my piece and now im gonna walk away.
