And just remember: That untrained off-the-wall canine chasing its tail around in the neighbor's backyard is about a thousand times more likely to bite the mailman than your SchH3-titled dog. But of course, the insurance companies haven't figured that out yet. And neither has the AKC.
That would be an excellent statistic to keep. As all hospitals are required to bite statistics, why not ask that all important questions, why was the individual being treated, biten in the first place? If not mistaken or working with old information, I thought it was the St Bernard that has "statistically proven" its self to be the greatest offender, particularly with children.

The A.K.C. sells numbers...and they have an inexhaustible supply. WE should have such a racket! (Yessiree, I'd be happy to sell you another number!)
Would someone kindly explain to me just how a "judge" can be considered an "expert" on more than a dozen, totally different breeds? Or how anyone could ever believe that they have seriously examined a dog because it is gaited around in a circle by a fat woman who can barely haul herself around?
ANY demonstration of real drive or spirit is immediately penalized by these "judges"...even in the obedience ring. I could go on forever, but I'm only preaching to the choir.
In my hometown, we have a major, multi-day AKC bench show every year (gag!). Our K9 units often were used for security details at these shows, and I have had to suffer through several. Neither I nor anyone else in the Unit ever...repeat, ever... to the best of my knowledge, had a single exhibitor ask us about our work dogs, much less ask to see them or watch them work! (spectators, yes but never an exhibitor) Pretty well sums up the attitude of the vast majority of these people that I know personally.
