Once again, Heed the call of the ringsports. If you don't then there is the possibility of someone coming in and destroying them. I would lose my mind if this happens. I personally didn't think much of the dog, but even less of the descriptions of the dog. I have a crappy showlines dog but you won't hear about me breeding him, or telling you how great he is in the work. He has fun and thats why we continue to do it. Hello to all.
My name is Andrew Masia. I thought that if I surfed around I would find where the flaming of my dog and me began, so here I am. I'm the owner of Leri Unesco, I thought that in fairness you should all know a little about me, and hopefully in the process learn a little about yourselves.
I'd like to start out by telling you that my first GSD was a DDR Don Grandson, so I did not begin 15 years ago with show lines. I love all GSD's show or working lines and can appreciate the strengths and weaknesses in both. I'm not here to start a war or get into the show-line vs. working line B.S. I'm just here to clear up a few things.
- First off, the videos on my site were put there for people who visit to look at my dogs, plain and simple. Whether you like them or not is of no importance to me, I love them and that’s what I care about.
- I did not post here, or anywhere else soliciting the critiques of anyone in regards to the working ability of my dog. This thread was started by Tracy Brown, why?
You got me! Why her comments were put under the dog’s video clips? Once again you all can answer that one.
- Travis writes”the guy is talking about putting the video up so that people will want to breed to his dog, good luck? i guess?
Wrong Travis, It’s called honesty in advertising. I could care less if people use my dog or not, but at least I have the honesty to put ALL the dogs’ assets and short comings out on the table. I would challenge any of you to go to ANY site and see if the owners (especially show lines) have taken the time, or had the honesty to post the complete info that I have: Videos of protection work, courage test, gaiting, a link to the O.F.A. site showing (6) Certifications in regards to his health, pictures and show placements of his progeny in Denmark, full pedigree and translated korung that also lists some of his negatives in conformation.
And incidentally Travis, try to refrain from sending profanity laced emails to me. The dog world is a small one and we are likely to meet somewhere along the line.
- Stephanie, people who don’t know anything should be lucky enough to come in contact with someone like me. I’m honest and I spend as much time that is necessary to try and educate and help people make the right decisions.
- Tracy, I’m far from delusional, and I did take your comments and some others personally especially since it was YOU who solicited the comments, not me. Does the phrase Sh_ t stirrer mean anything to you? As far as destroying the breed, take a good look around you. For someone who is an admitted novice you sure speak like you know it all Miss “Teddy Bear Shepherd”
- Tracy, as far as making a quick buck goes; I have not had a litter of pups in about 8 years.
I have bred a total of 5 litters in the last 15 years. I could never hope, nor do I expect to ever recoup the money I have invested in my HOBBY. I will not breed for the sake of a buck, I will only breed if I believe it’s a good breeding.
- Kate, I removed the video from my site and reposted it with another provider that doesn’t include a comment field. I’d like you to show me anyone that would leave that on their site. People are intelligent enough to know what their watching, I won’t allow you or anyone else to trash me or mine, and be partner to it by posting it on my site. It’s just down right rude!
- Will, I see that your in the Southern U.S., well I’m in South Florida, I’ve got the gear, your welcome to stop over for a cold one and have a go at running my dog off the field. The video you all have seen was taken over a year and half ago. I recognize the weaknesses in my dog’s performance and have been working hard to correct it. He has come a long way since then.
- Jeff, don’t be disheartened, but don’t be misguided either. There are many people out there that are EXTREMISTS “world domination in ringsports”, both in working and show lines; I’m not one of them. I’m happy to own and work a dog that looks good and hold his own on the field, call it the “happy middle” if you choose but we all can’t like the same things in life.

I have only one thing to say, your already headed out the door coming on here with that. This is NOT the board to bring a street scrap to. Ed, nor the moderators put up with cat fights. Chris, as you may have noticed I've been visiting this site since November and this is the first post that I have made.
If you or anyone else finds it improper for someone to rebut what’s written then what are are you all really learning?
I'm content to read articles and posts that I find interesting and don't have the need to add to things I have nothing to say about.
I’m sure Ed and his mods are intelligent enough to read between the lines of how this thread started and why I have answered. I don’t think that he needs you to be his attorney or to set me straight. As far as heading out doors or bringing street crap that’s you talking not me.
I’m not looking for a fight just the opportunity to address the lynch mob that your running, Oh, and I do appreciate your welcome.

Several people have given their own honest opinions of the video clips of your dog working. This is a forum and people are eager to participate in something that is easy to do, like point out the faults in some body elses dog.Im sure you understand that most people on this forum are concerned about maintaining the credibility of the GSD as an actual working dog. I would be interested in hearing your honest opinion of what your dogs weaknesses are based on those video clips and also, since this is an available stud dog, what do you think this dog has to offer to the integrity of the GSD as an actual working dog.

you decided to send an email to me on my personal account, I replied with the appropriate "screw off" (in somewhat different terms) i gave you an honest evaluation of what i thought your dog was like, if you dont like it then dont post your videos and allow comments, but since you moved it, that is great you will never know what your dog needed to work on. if you send me emails on my personal account i will reply with exactly what i think, which is my right. and as far as meeting you, trust me im not worried, ill be at the gsdca-wda nationals in kansas city this weekend if you are that eager to hear what i think in person, but you probably are afraid that you will see a real working dog...haha

btw dont be so angry at everyone else because your dog is not performing well, remember 'frustration builds drive' this applies to people too, if you are upset this bad and you think your dog is so great, then train your dog more effectively and better, take him to a regional event and score well, prove us all wrong, then post a video and tell everyone to kiss your ass, otherwise, keep training and dont blame us for your dog not performing well, its simply not our fault....

I`m sure your GSD is a nice dog but it`s mainly a WORKING breed. It`s purpose is not just to look pretty and chase things. Leave that to the foo-foo breeds. My lab gets a naturally fuller and harder grip than your GSD. I would be embarassed to show this dog if only for it`s disregard of the handlers commands. Even if the dog has gotten better you still need to consider the fact that it may be a good dog but how much does it have to offer the GSD breed as far as improving it goes. Improving the breed should always be your goal as a dog breeder especially with a working breed. If you need to clarify something feel free to pm me.
