Ed's mood is just fine as far as I can see. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Many of the more serious member's here, including myself, were unhappy with the direction that the board was taking. Ed's action's were badly needed and it's nice to see the board heading back to it's original direction.
I like the directional work in PSA. Sending a dog between two bad guys,etc.. with call offs, intense enviromental crap, surprise scenarios. It's alot to train for, and on trial day you could still something that has never been thrown in before.
Comparatively speaking, the ob in PSA is easy. They give you alot of leeway IMO.
I couldn't be happier! I was dancing around the office like the idiot I am. So tired of what fluffy eats and how he poops, and "I got this rescue dog ten minutes ago and I am not sure he likes me. V.C. tried a couple months ago, and people ignored it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
What makes a sport "reality based" or just a "sport"? In other words, what criterium should a sport fullfill to be called reality based? Are KNPV or belgiumring reality based sports for example?
I'm interested. I would love to try ASR, but I am in Michigan and you are all down south. Anyways, Kato is only 9 months old and not quite ready for that kind of action yet. Darn it!! I participated in protection sports with my older dog and it was soooo much fun. She can no longer compete due to spinal degeneration. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I may just have to drive down to watch a trial soon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I'm thinking with the recent release of info from the Judges' College, many people will start to look to alternative sports that really test the character of dogs. It might be a good show of forethought to go ahead and add a ProSports forum to start spreading the word. Maybe with the help of Ed's board here (we all know that there are a lot of members and TONS of visitors to this board), American Ringsport can get off the ground.
Mike your right on. Hey I thought about talking to the ASR leadership about a trial in Lake Charles this winter. Which as you know is more like fall/not quite winter, LOL!. However, I'm not so sure I'm ready to host another trial that soon even if they did ok it. One of these days I want to do a trial back there in my home town, I think it would be a good central location to pull people from Mississipi to Texas. I think it would be great for ASR.
