Oh and of course, congratulations on the training progress!!
Please keep us posted on his training (or at least me by PM hehe); I will have to live vicariously through you and Lear when it comes to protection training
Bumping Lear's thread. I uploaded new pics of his bitework session (3rd one - finally remembered to bring the camera!). There's 3 videos as well, 2 of bitework, 1 of playing in the wading pool. If you watch the videos, make sure they're not set on slide show or it will only show 3 seconds of each video.
He had just turned 10 months the day before those were taken on 4/7. He gets excited to see the trainer/decoy. We had to skip the next 2 weekends cause of a trip I took him on (which he loved!).

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto......awesome Sandy.
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
Thanks guys! We are definitely having a blast. It's so fun to watch him. I had to let my son handle the leash, Lear was just too strong for me (I'm ashamed to admit!). It was so different from any pulling he's done on a leash in the past, which I could handle. The pulling for the prey item was over the top strength-wise. It took me by surprise. I tried it on the 1st training session and at one point I was lucky to have stopped him when he lunged for the trainer (who had no protection on and was wearing shorts!). The trainer told me about how some men just won't hold their dogs back and he stops training them if they don't heed his warning. So I enlisted my son for all future sessions
When Lear sees the trainer open his big black bag of stuff where he keeps the rag, sleeve and other gear, he wants to grab the prey items out of there, he gets so excited. I love seeing how happy he is when he's working. I get so much joy out of his joy.
Mike, you asked how Lear likes working with someone else - do you mean my son handling him or the trainer himself?
