Ok, I wanted to comment on a few things. I, by no means, am an expert - but wanted to comment on the reward issue.
There is a dog in my club - her name is Amy. (I have NEVER seen a dog take treats so gently. NO TEETH whatsoever.) She has NO food drive. Whenever she is rewarded, her handler uses a toy. I believe it is a Kong on string.
There are other dogs in the club that LOVE food. They are looking, smelling LIVING for the food reward.
I believe the trainer/handler working with the dog should figure out what motivates that particular dog and utilize that.

Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
Thanks Susan, you are right I am switching him to reward with food because he is so nuts about his toy that the focus is a bit overloaded when he sees his toy so I have to keep him guessing, like you said.Yaggo is a food hound that at tracking he is a charm, that is why I passed my tracking at the trial!! I made handler mistakes here and there but he tracked like a train...I just want to see the same thing with Bandit!!
Carol I wish you luck with your new pup ,it seems like you have great support from your little group..
The breeder backed out of the deal. It wasn't anything that I did specifically. I suspect they were going to sell my pup to someone else (at a higher price).
They called me back adn asked if I was still interested in the pup and I said no.
So, I have been referred to some professional kennels and have narrowed my choices to two of them (in my area). The first kennels pups will be ready to go home in a few weeks. The second kennels pups aren't due until mid-May.
