Eric, why not browse around in the "Feeding an all natural diet" section of the forum first?
The raw-feeding topic has been discussed and hashed-out ad nauseam on this forum and most of the questions that newbies ask have been repeated hundreds of thousands of times over
Better yet, read the article that Cindy wrote on raw feeding (it answers every one of the questions you just asked): http://www.kaiserhaus.com
The article is under "feeding" or "articles"... can't remember for sure, it's easy to find.

I've explained the basics so many times, I no longer have the courage to answer these same questions for the million'th time, lol.
Yuko, I guess I'm still a newbie at this, as I haven't answered that many questions - or finished ASKING all the ones still have!! But at least I'm an enthusiastic newbie who couldn't be more excited about this sea change in the way we feed our dogs - I like to talk it up every time I get a chance!!
Can I get a "Hoo-rah!" for fresh rabbit meat!!!

I so agree with you on many levels, I think Caesar is such a better example then that chick ..
I don't believe that Oprah spends as much time with her animals as she should but at least they are well taking care of , maybe better than what life they would have had with someone else. She did buy the pup with the under bite, so at least one thing we know is that they have a huge roof over there head and they will never starve....what can we say...

Lol Natalya, you're doing a great job answering the questions - you know your stuff
It's also hard to shut me up on the benefits of raw feeding as everyone here must have noticed, I'm sure. Hehe.
Yes yes, fresh rabbit meat is great. However I still hate having to dispatch the rabbit myself.
Killed two decent-sized ones yesterday for my dogs and chopped up one of the rabbits to freeze the parts (in nice small manageable chunks) for my future baby puppy. It was so horrible, the flesh was still bloody and warm; I knew it would be, but I don't usually handle freshly killed prey - I just chuck it to my dogs as quickly as possible and let them sort it out!
Some of the muscles were still *twitching* as I was cutting up the decapitated carcass, it was sickening!!
Remind me to let the carcass "sit" for a while before slicing it up next time
(Of course it's completely unnecessary to go to these lengths to feed raw - I'm just weird that way. Don't want to scare any potential raw-feeders away, lol).

I think what you're doing is amazing - and not something I'd at all expect from a female in her 20s - I'M certainly not that courageous!!! Makes it all that more admirable.
BTW, Taro is just drop dead handsome.

Hi,
The statement I made was a "generalization". There are exceptions to everything. I didn't feel I needed to add a disclaimer to the statement.
A perfect example would be the statement of the "most dominant dog I ever met was a poodle." (I believe that is a paraphrase of Ed's statement regarding a poodle he knew. Was it his mother's dog?)

Yuko,
I am reminding you to let the bunny sit for a while before you slice it up next time....hee hee
I just got a "killer" deal on rabbits. My husbands, son's, wife's Grandpa raises feeder rabbits and he has WAY too many so he is going to give me about 50 to freeze.
He kills and cleans them but I get to skin, cut up and freeze them....WOO HOO!! More free meat.....

Carolyn
I guess my only problem with O was that she got sibblings (not 2 but 3!) and she chose them because of the novelty of them being a rare color.
Good point, at least she has the bucks to hire dog walkers and give them the best medical care. I truly believe she loves her dogs. The show was just a little to fur-kiddy to me. I love her show when CM is on. That trainer seemed to have no credentials other than living in the desert watching wolves, so she said. I could be wrong, I have never heard of her.
Now everyone will want a cream GR and will pay big bucks.
BTW, I will look into Jan Fennell so thanks for the that. As far as PP I'm kind of liking that Victoria Stillwell trainer on It's me or the Dog TV show. She's kind of a crack up. Can't wait to see what she does with a dog that wants to bite her high heels off.

NO FAIRRR!!!!!! I want 50 free bunnies!!!!!!!!!!
And you don't even have to raise them OR KILL THEM!!!!!!!! You get all the fun without the yucky killing part
Well I suppose you've earned your share of free bunnies, what with chasing down all those dangerous fugitives
Why would you skin them or cut them up? Dogs love to rip up whole rabbits. I only cut up yesterday's carcass cause it's going to be fed to a wee little puppy, hee hee.
(Psstt... if your freezers can't contain all those rabbits, feel free to ship as many as you'd like to Ottawa - I really don't mind helping you get the excess meat off your hands )
