Great point, Mike!
Man, those ridiculous feeding trials... another subject that could really get me going (I won't, don't worry)
Anyway, glad the links were of use to you Brian. No one believes what goes into kibble when they're first told. I don't blame them either - it is pretty mind boggling

I have always and likely will always feed Canidae. I put a good bit of research into kibbles back when I was deciding and Canidae seemed like high quality. Human grade meats, quality ingredients, its my choice.
Hey Brian, I agree! That is what I used to feed before I switched to raw. I think it is an excellent food and for the price, there is no better. I pretty much converted all of my friends & relatives w/dogs to Canidae. I think I should get a cut of their profit now

Yes, Canidae is great stuff, I personally think it is better than Wellness mostly due to the price of Wellness and the OMH products but I like Innova for their EVO line, and I do feed Wellness 95% canned as well as EVO 95% canned, mostly the salmon and venison formulas because I'm too cheap to buy salmon and too lazy to cook it and I won't feed wild game from hunting season to my dogs.
This debate reminds me of Hot Dogs and SPAM in a couple different ways.

Hi
My fault, i know you guys are not for grains so that is why i put the two types of Grain from the two Kibbles and left most other out, It was the Grain Bit i was interested in
Of course the food contains Chicken and Turkey plus a lot of other stuff including L-Carntine, Glucosamine Hydrochloride Chondroitin, Sulphate & vitamin E
One said look at the Leerburg Food. Thats okay and i wish i could but i have to pay heavy for the shipping to Belgium then i have to pay out again this side on top, The freight Charges would be twice the cost of the food, and i am not wealthy enough to be able to do that
Have you tried duck. commes in different flavours and basicaly is frozen meat

Yes Johan, Pup Fred would eat it okay before i went on Raw with Him. Old Charlie did not like it, in fact he was sick twice after eating it, I guess his old inside is programed to kibble. But i do not want to continue except with some really good kibble,
Connie suggested i look at Orijen. which is a Very high Protein kibble about 40 to 50% protein but without Grains at all. Vegetables and Fruits make up 25% if i read it correctly, I do not see it sold in Belgium but it seems to in France and Germany so will have to see if it can be bought to me by courier service
I also looked for Canidae, but i think it stays in the USA and Canada

Steve - I live in Estonia and I can buy Orijen from one little pet store here even though it is not listed on the Orijen web page as one of their dealers. On the Orijen webpage it is sold internationally only in England, France, and Germany. The shop here special orders it from one of those countries and even though the shop is 2 hours from my house, they deliver it to me free of charge. Talk about service! They send me a bill online, I pay it, and the next day it's at my front door. Would there be a small shop in Belgium that might have Orijen? I found it by searching the Estonian web directory. I tried to google it in Belgium but didn't come up with anything in English - maybe you could try on the Begium web directory.

Brenda
I have found an outlet over here and as you say it is sold in England , France and Germany, My supplier of Chicken Livers and Hearts plus Beef hearts is not going to help me in the future as his boss says its not viable to them It took me a long time to find this fellow and a lot of travelling around a 30kms radius to find even one to help me, Now i have to feed the Pup the same way So i am going to try the Orijen Adult and the Fish and put 75% Meat and 25% Fish diet plus other things to add like Salmon Oil, Eggs,Yogurt, a bit of fresh meat on occasions and some steamed veggies as extras as advised me by a very respected Member of this Forum
As you say the freight costs are free
Many Thanks

I may be incorrect about Duck brand, but I spent some time tracking down the ingredient percentages for a couple of forum members who are in Belgium and who were astonished (as I am) at the unavailability of reasonably-priced poultry. Around $3 per pound (in U.S.-speak) for chicken quarters and wings.....
http://www.k9dogfood.co.uk/ingredients_html.html
indicates that the food certainly does contain grains, and that the grains are corn, wheat, and bran.
I find the breakdown very hard to decipher. At the top it says the ingredients are (quote): Tripe, heart, liver, kidneys 50%, Cereals, vegetable by-products. (What does the 50% mean? No idea. I copied and pasted.)
A few lines below you see ox muscle meat under protein. Why isn't it in "ingredients?"
I emailed weeks ago for a breakdown by ingredient or, failing that, an indication of which product contained the least grain. I didn't receive an answer (except an automated "we will reply" email).
So while it may be the best thing going, I can't tell from their web info.

Wow. You know, as advanced and common sense'd the Europeans are regarding dogs, I'm surprised it's so difficult/expensive to feed raw.
