Wow what a shame. I remember, once I was walking my dog and she had to poop on the sidewalk in the park. I didn't have any bags with me & there were none in the park. I had to run about 2 miles (roundtrip) to go home & get a bag to clean it up.
WELL, I suppose there ARE situations where, for lack of a better phrase, "s$#t happens" and you're left with a pile of poo and no bag... yes, even the best of us have found ourselves in this situation - it's ok Alex , but way to go for the poo bag run! The thing that separates US from the weiners who have no sense of resposnability is that even if we can't possibly find a scrap of plastic blowing in the wind, or an old cardboard box in the bushes, we STILL come back as soon as possible (be it 5 minutes or 24 hours) with a bag, from our no doubt enormous collection, and we clean it up then.
Oh OH OH!!! I am guilty of that myself !!! (slaps self on wrist) - the leaving a bag of picked up poop behind.
This morning, I was in a city that is 1.5 hours away from where I live, picking up a foster dog. The dog was on the tail end of a very loooong journey so I took him for a walk so he could potty. The two vehicles were parked at one end of a long parking lot flanked by warehouses, so we had to walk to the other end of the lot to find grass for the dog. Although it was nicely manicured, it was the only grass around so we had no choice. The dog peed for like 5 minutes, then defecated, which I promptly bagged. Then we walked alllll the way back to the car, where I put the bag on the pavement so I could lift the dog into the crate in my vehicle.
We were about 1/2 way home when I realized that bag was still sitting in that parking lot....
I feel soooo bad and I'm not usually that negligent! I'm thinking I might phone the business tomorrow and apologize.
I realllly hate when other peoples animals go to the bathroom on my yard. My main problem is with cats because their urine stinks like ... well you know, (and I don't have A/C so my windows are open) and they rip up my gardens. Happily, I haven't had that much trouble with dogs, even though I live on a busy street and people walk their dogs by all the time. They do pee on my picket fence but I don't really mind that.
You can always tag it. :P I've heard people who go out and buy those miniature bright colored flags and place one in each pile of misappropriated poop. Even going as far as labeling it, "This is _____'s. They left this here, so I'm marking it in case they forgot again."
