Yeah I think Doc is just misunderstood. I do not think many dogs could take listening to protection and not be a bit into getting on the field with the kind of fighting drive he has. He truly is a great dog. This is a dog that is clear in the head, but very strong. Betty has done a wonderfull job with him in such a short period of time. You can really see them working as a team now. Folk's this is a dog for breeding and will be up there one day standing on the box at a big event with Betty. You do not find dogs this often that have it in protection, and can do really nice ob. and be a great house dog too. Working him is really a pleasure for me. And Betty's bitch is pretty nice too. Betty has her hands full now with training two high level dogs. She is a Fetz daughter and if she represents what he produces Will should be pretty proud of him. I normally do not get to work such a strong bitch with such nice drives. And I now see that Betty has a third dog that comes out to training too that she hit a home-run with! Betty is turning into a Schutzhund warrior!! I am going to try next time I get with Betty to take some video of her Doc so folks can see him on the field working.I am sure everyone will be impressed with him. I cannot wait until she breeds them so I can get a Mini-Doc since I can't have him.
I am looking foward to the big day, with Will at the wheel for the ob. and it is at Cole's place so I would think he will be there too. Sorry Anita that you are bailing on us. I think you should kick the other event to the curb but that is just me.

Anita won't bail on us.......If she does we will just have to talk about her while she's not there!
Doc may end up on a podium, but I'm pretty sure the closest I am going to get it getting sick from nerves beind it........
Don't sell yourself short Mike, without your help and Doc's enrollement in your anger management course we both know I would of been in trouble....... Never thought someone could just look him in the eye and say "now cut that out" and he does. Very valuable lesson learned that day!
The Weas's littermates are all doing well, I think Will said she was the middle of the road in that particular breeding. Can't even imagine Annabelle times 2.
Gotta admit Raya surprised me today. She had such a hard time with the Florida heat and humidity when I first got her I was starting to wonder if her title was from one of those midnight trials I keep hearing about. I mean she really surprised me today. I was almost speachless, which both you and Will will attest to doesn't happen often enough at training!
Mini-Doc
Lucky woman I am, good dogs and good teachers that are willing to spend time with someone that doesn't have a clue. Life doesn't get much better then that.
Hubby is pretty cool too.

I just noticed this! My decoy, we will put all of our dogs on you and see how much fighting drive you have! LOL.
I was talking to Art and if you get back here soon, we will have a nice pool of decoys to work on. It looks like the South will rise again, and heck I am a yanky.

We are going to make a Southerner out of you yet Mike. ...
We are set up for Col's at 9am this coming Saturday. Will has confirmed so be ready for some strong OB before protection!
I think Art will be taping Col and learning all he can in the fine art of decoying.
I have "country" directions for Col's house and am trying to get a hold of his formal address for people. Give me a day and we will have it.
Anyone that wants to meet at my house at 8:30am can follow me over and I'm sure Mike will make the same offer for all of you coming from his area. Col's house is about 8 miles south of me, which in my neighborhood we consider being right down the road.....
Oh Art! If you need extra cleats let me know, and Mike has requested that we give a short demonstration on posting.....
Col has a wonderful piece of property with a full permanent field. I understand that he has added goats since the last time I've been there so we should be able to do some distration proofing!
Just had a thought Wendy has some very heavily titled herding Mals maybe she can give us a demonstation? Don't think too many Mals title in herding...............

I think Art will have his taping from the time he gets to Cole's. It is really nice that Cole is letting this training day take place at his house. Betty, I am trying to get Emie to come with an older dog named Kimmon. If you bring Doc, Will is coming, so I am sure Fetz will be in the van, we will have dogs with more fight drive then Art knows what to do with . He best better wear his cleats, that is for sure.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone and thier owners too.

We had a great bunch of folks turn out for our latest training day. Art made it a bit before I had to leave so at least I got to see him. Anita left her Ocala club when they were done down there, only to come and train some more. To top that she was training into the wee hrs of Friday/Sat morning too. Anita got there about 15 minutes after Art and she was over an hr away and Art was maybe 15. I think Art may need a GPS and a faster car. I am happy to have met someone that gets lost more then me.
The food was great, we got some excellent ob done and then went into protection. Wendy's Mals are really moving along and Betty is pushing hard with Doc. Doc is really coming together in all three phases and able to think while doing protection. It was nice for me to watch instead of sleeve for Doc to see what he looked like from another point of view. Cole did a great deal of the helper work and his years of decoying showed. There are not many people that can work a dog with such skill. I am lucky when I get him to work with my dogs. Art's helper work is getting better everytime. My only problem was I had to leave at 12:00 and I hear that training went on to almost 4. And when I was there we got a ton of training done, not just flapping of the jaws. I really like these gatherings. Can't wait until the next training day.

What a fun day we had! When I left Art was still quizzing Col and hanging unto every word.
Have to admit it's the first time I've had to go down to the dirt road to flag someone down after they were provided with such excellent directions. Turn right after 1.2 miles........ But I guess it doesn't do you much good if you leave the directions unprinted in your computer...........
The best part is having so many decoys that the decoys get to work their dogs hard. Happy decoys make for an excellent day.
This group is going to meet two weeks from yesterday. Next training place will be at my folks who live right behind me. (Ok for non-country people that's a mile or two away) it is an airport community with the roads being taxiways to the runway so we will have a whole new distraction to offer the dogs.
We will be at the back of 5 acres so far enough away from any plane traffic.
Good people, good dogs, good food, and new training fields every time. How cool is that?

I would have been there sooner, but SOMEONE told me to turn left at the Chevron station, which had been mysteriously replaced by the time I got there with a Jiffy food mart
I had a good time, as did Parek. I really appreciated how Col spent a lot of time talking with me before working Parek. He listened intently to what I wanted to work on, asked questions to make sure he understood, then did exactly what was needed to reinforce the work I'd done the previous night with another helper. Then we let Art do a fun back-away bite to finish up, but Parek didn't want to leave the field. He grabbed the sleeve from Art, ignored my "hiers" and ran over to Col. Art, dude, dude, you really need to take a shower before the next session.
