yes pics are not a problem...does anyone here feel the "puppy vaccines" would be a bad thing as long as I dont continue to vaccinate and feed a raw diet? Just cuious this is the big hang up now..I guess youcould say Im a little vaccine and vet shy right now!
I'm sorry about your puppy...that's a complete nightmare and terrible thing to endure. Let yourself heal a little and then find another puppy. I know this sounds completely rhetorical, but I'd rather love and lose than never love at all. There's a puppy waiting for you.
Has anyone considered Parvo as a culprit? Just wondering.
what is parvo and where do puppies get it from? I dont think it was parvo..if it was should not one of the sven vaccines taken care of it? I dont want the new puppy getting any shots
I think if it was my puppy I would get puppy shots just to be on the safe side. If it was Parvo, your home/yard is very germy for months.

I have to respectfully disagree. I did not at any time think "Parvo" during Marty's description of Smoke's symptoms. Some of them were vaccinosis symptoms I have dealt with personally, and Parvo is more likely to give you a false positive (after a vaccine) than a false negative, so I doubt it. However, especially if it WAS Parvo, I would absolutely NOT vaccinate a new pup in order to give highest possible chance of being able to fight off an infection.
Why oh why do vets continually perpetuate the notion that vaccines are GOOD for animals??? Yes, some vaccines work. Like polio and tetanus...how often do we ever hear of dogs being vaccinated for either? Vaccines work against toxins...virus vaccines are a bit more of a gray area. I read somewhere that there has never once been a single, proven, documented case of a vaccine given to a dog that actually prevented the disease. Yes, it's difficult to prove efficacy, but still...until vets have scientific proof that they work, I'll let my animals fight disease the good old fashioned way-with a well-armed immune system.
well I brought one of his sisters home today and she is a little spitfire just like he was...breeder ssid he gave her the puppy shots and followed it with boosters on Aug 29th...well that will be the last shots she will get period....except for rabies.. feeding her honest kitchen and she loves it...any opinions as to if thedmage is done by the breeder giving her the tow sets of shots or is there still hope? He said he does not do any frontline but does recommend heartworm...kind of leary about that but any opinions or help would be appreciated....again thanks everyone for making this loss a little easier...I will post pics very soon.
