Tethering is only really hard for the first week or so. My dogs always seem to be underfoot if I dont run them off so I am used to the drunken sailor walking too.
I wear a sturdy leather belt and then clip a caribeaner around it and loop the leash through the caribeaner. He didnt just rip off a belt loop he ripped the waist of the jeans...sturdy belt loop!!
But make sure if you have a rolling desk chair you have brakes or something to stop it from rolling....
I have also been known to soak my ponytail in bitter apple...probably not the best for my hair but its better than having it all ripped off my scalp!
My GSD used to jump everytime I took him out of the crate and threw bites to my hands. What i did was to just remain stand still until he gets tired of jumping (thats 2 or 3 times). then he sits in front of me and thats when I reward him and put the leash on.
Regarding the pulling what I did was to stop walking everytime he pulled. At the beginning it was annoying cause it take us 20 minutes to advance 2 or 3 blocks, until he realized that if he pulls he does not advance.
