Connie, does it sound like a lack of appetite for you, or just a distracted young pup?
I couldn't tell from Waleed's post if the dog is eating it's food or not, only that it wanders away from it's bowl and has to be "bribed" back with treats. Which may be reinforcing the wandering behavior.
Alyssa...
you make a point, He is a very distracted puppy.. or i should say better, very curious... but i always assumed that when its feed time for then, or at least when they smell the food, they are so excited and go through it...

You know, Alyssa, I was just sitting here thinking that he may just be getting more food than he needs. Your suggestion of wandering off to explore is even more likely. I don't have puppy experience, so it's good that the puppy folks think of the puppy things.
Still, I'm thinking that I'd switch to a different protein anyway for now, just on the chance that there is a food allergy. No loss, really. The chicken recipe can be stored carefully while the new food is being fed, and it can be a small package.
The reason I said canned is because a well dog will usually have plenty of interest in canned food.
The poor O.P. is being bombarded. But an itchy puppy (or dog) almost always requires some detective work.

I would try a switch anyway (as mentioned) to get rid of the possibility of food allergy. Easily done, you can even use the same brand and save the remaining portion of this package, closed up tight and put inside a plastic trash bag to keep it fresh.
Please let uus know about the Benadryl when you can give the dose and observe (at a time when the dog is not in an exciting new place or outdoors).
Also, please let us know about the Lepto vax.
P.S. You know that the food package is just broad guidelines, right? One dog might need 75% of the food another dog of the same size needs, and not just based on activity levels. Metabolism varies from one individual to another.

Edit reason: p.s.
So i checked the vet doc and saw that it wasn't Lepto that he received... but the vet called me today to check on Maximus's health, very Noble of her to call unexpectedly, and I inquired about Lepto and she reinforced that in our region it is needed as she has seen enough cases to recommend it...
Took Maximus yesterday to visit the trainer and everyone was amazed by him... Amazed at how he performed and how eager he was... Had his first bite work training and he was really going at the sleeve... he made me happy bc all of the persons watching including employees of the tacitly kept asking,"Where did you get him from?"...
Trainer said, "if you want to just make him a pet it would be a complete waste of his potential, he is the best puppy I have worked with thus far"...
