Yeah, whatever happen to my original topic: "The yearly checkup for the dogs"? lol j/k
And on that note...
The day after going to the vet and getting Otto antibiotics for his eyes, he won't raise his tail-like he's trying to protect his hiney hole. I called the vets office and it's not a side effect from the meds, and I'll be watching it until Monday. If it's still the same, back to the vet. But, today it seems to be better-raising his tail a little more. I think he sat on something (shouldn't have, we just did a massive cleanup of the backyard) or was bite/stung by something. Dumb dogs

I think it's maybe droopy-tail from the vet visit (anxiety) and the meds and possibly just discomfort. You know how a sick dog will often have droopy-tail that seems to go along with an all-over reduction in vigor?
I know that sounds vague, but I have one who has it for a full day after a vet visit, no matter what the visit was for (this one does not care for vet visits).
The thread has pretty much lost any connection with its original title.
Sorry... I'll take credit for that... my band, I MEAN BAD!
But back to Keleah's NEW post - did Otto get bumped on the back/butt at all? I accidentally thumped Oscar in the butt closing my hatchback with him inside one day - he got so sore at the very base of his tail that it made him lethargic and he lost his appetite. Only when the e-vet tried to get his temperature by lifting his tail did we realize THAT was the source of his illness... poor guy. If he could talk, I'd never live that one down...
Yeah, I don't know if his tail got bumped or what. They didn't take his temp at the vet and I watched as he did his physical exam, so I don't know what else it could be besides a bug bite or something. I'll just keep watching him and see what happens.
And.... lol....
Shaed hit one of our fence posts the night we got home from the vet and yelped and cried like crazy, but all she did was hit her shoulder and after a couple of minutes she was fine-I've been checking her out every night since for swelling or pain: so far nothing. I thought she broke her leg or something-holy crap was I scared.
Ok, so Otto is a big faker. He's had his tail up most of the day today and it doesn't seem to bother him. I think he was milking the attention-lol. He's fine and his tails ok, no need for another vet visit-what a turd! lol

I know it was now! lol He's a dork.
The reason I know about this malady is: With this dog of mine, it starts halfway across the parking lot on the way INTO the vet building. Tail gets lower and lower .... never quite tucks, but just droops like a wet mop. Then it starts coming back up about 24 hours after the vet .....
