Thanks, my pup was on one of those drugs but I'm trying to keep him off of them now if I can. I only use it if he start getting real bad and licks non stop.

he also licks the upper part of one leg and his rear hip areas.
How bad?
I also have doggie benadryl, 2 to 3 a day that help a little.
What's doggie benadryl? Benadryl is OTC. Have you trialed Chlorpheniramine and Hydroxyzine (both with better dog-benefit histories than Benadryl)? (However, only about a third of dogs are relieved with antihistamines; the number goes up when it's combined with fish oil. Still, I think it's well worth trying each for a two-week trial; dogs are very individual in reaction to antihistamines.)
I will also that your advise about washing off his feet after we come in from outside.
Before he comes in.
And you'll want to vacuum up existing pollen in the house and throw the bag away outside (if you have a bag-type vacuum), and launder his bed/blanket, etc.

He is 85 lbs. I've been giving him one 1000 mg a day. I've been kinda afraid to up the amount as he has a delicate stomach and can get loose stools.
I would increase it gradually. Go to 2 grams and check the poop, then 3, etc. It's such a potent anti-inflammation agent .... also, it rarely causes diarrhea unless it's a large amount given suddenly.
With an 85-pound dog, I'd use liquid. Gelcaps are pretty spendy unless you have a small dog.
Just an update on my boy. I started him on full dose of salmon oil and he has been on clear allerqi for 2 or 3 weeks now. He gets washed off after the park. He gets no table scraps. He is on Wellness rice and salmon kibble. No treats but kibble.
He takes small dose of temeril p. Still itching awful.
Questions.
Someone mentioned Atopica. Has that worked for anyone?
Has anyone found a kibble where they noticed that the dog was itching less? We have been through many of the really good brands.
Has anyone noticed that their dog was itching less switching to a raw diet?
Has anyone really had good luck getting allergy test and shots. ?
