I work at a dog training facility...more like a doggy daycare with benefits. haha. I am not a trainer. I clean crates and such during the last two hours of business while owners are coming to pick up their dogs. Yesterday the trainer on duty was talking to one of the owners about walking in the local park. I, being truly curious because of this thread, asked what they do when a dog off leash runs up to their dogs. They look at each other, pause, laugh, "we're the ones whose dogs are off leash". The trainer told me people who have a problem with her dog (Border Collie) coming up to their dog to make friends should have a cat. I won't put words in her mouth. She may think differently about it rather than that off the cuff remark in front of a client. But I now know at least one park to stay away from if I ever go to one. I'm beginning to wonder if my poor dog will be home-bound. Or maybe I will buy a shillelagh.
Scott, I see what you're getting at.
And for me, the 18 series is the "average" soldier!
However, I have advocated *many* times that people who are serious about increasing their ability to defend themselves take the time and attend one of the fine gun training schools here in the USA.
So I'm going to list them once again ( hey....I'm always hoping that I'll bump into a friend while I'm there, I have a life membership to Front Sight < hint hint > )
Checking other Coldsteel products, the City Stick seem as (if not more) potent than it's Irish counterpart at dealing with anything nasty you might encounter.
If anyone used to be disrespectful with elders before reading this thread, I think they'll think twice about it now.
Definitely wouldn't want and old timer to hit me on the noggin with his cane after watching these videos.
