So the funny story:
A breeder writes me back Yelling in his email about how if I feed the dog a raw food diet he can't guarantee the dog and the dog will die of bad bacteria in a few months if I do that and he went on and on about how stupid I was for thinking about it.. So I wrote back for fun and said, but.. can I buy your dog? And he replied back.. yes... I was laughing so hard... And no I will not be buying from that breeder..
The look continues.. Thought someone might find this funny.. Sorry I will not mention the breeder I don't want to bash people.
Okay so I think I have found a really good dog breeder. She has a championship line and competes her dogs, she has a huge property with really clean and nice kennels. She starts the puppies off with a raw food diet, and works with them until you get them at 8-9 weeks. And she is right at the 1500 mark which I am finding to be an average. She offers all kinds of training including Shutzhund. The problem is from her website I believe she is a All positive trainer, with zero corrections.. or at least she recommended a book to be and that lady is. That said, I think it would be a great place to buy a dog, but I am not sure about the training. Does anyone know of a good balanced trainer in Northern VA. I really believe in Ed's Videos and do really well with them but it would be great to have extra help from a pro telling me if I am doing things right/wrong and once they are 18 months and we start correction someone to tell me if Its to hard to soft and the right timing etc...

If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.
John, if this lady can title a dog in Schutzhund with no corrections, then more power to her. Perhaps the book she referred to was 'Purely Positive Training' by Sheila Booth. This is a great book for those with a new pup, written by a women who has titled a dog to Schutzhund lll level using no physical corrections.
Maybe you should ask her specifically about corrections, if that is a concern. Do you have a link to her kennel?
Hopefully you'll get some responses from folks here who compete in Schutzhund...
Lynne.. That is is great point.. I am making a big assumption there! And I very well might be wrong. Maybe she is just referring a book to me for puppy training, I am going to setup a interview with her next week, I am sure she will tell me more. The book she referenced is: The Culture Clash: A Revolutionary New Way to Understanding the Relationship Between Humans and Domestic Dogs by Donaldson.
