I consider the owner of Brush creek a good friend. But if these dogs wont fit my needs then she will understand. Up to this point she has answered all my questions. But when i talk with her agian. There is going to be a lot more questions.
I'm confused Jeremy, if you know them that well and she's a friend, why are you so hesitant? It seems like you should know the dogs and what they do and have done with them.

lol....well after reading over on all the stuff on here about showline/ working line.....i had no idea....really i didnt... i have visited the kennel a few times...but i have not seen them work. It says that i can set up an appointment and the dog can be tested with "qualified" handlers. Hell im not qualified....and i wouldnt know how hard the grip needs to be or things of that nature. And i dont know of a qualified handler to take with me....oh man.....FML....lol...Steve....i migh of went a little far. We live in 2 different cities and i have not been to the kennel in over a year. I need to find someone that knows what they are doing and take them with me. I dont want to use their K9 trainer as that might be a coflict of interest. I think im having a hard time accepting that these dogs might not be enough for what im wanting. I guess time will tell. I will need to work on finding someone that knows there shit in this. Since this will be my first time, Any of you guys/girl live in oklahoma....haha

lol, thats why I was suggesting you pay more attention to the obedience. Why don't you go out to one of the local clubs Jennifer posted and get a clearer idea of what you want. Then you can take a look at their dogs and compare. My first thought is that Anne is probably right, but there's always a chance.
It is much harder than most people would think to find a really good dog.
I actually ended up breaking the rules and working with a breeder from a distance. There are only a few really good kennels in my area and they all had big waiting lists. .
I wouldn't say that you should do what I did. I'm lucky it all worked out. The breeder is probably one of the most sincere people I have ever encountered. I knew from our first conversation that she was the one that I wanted to deal with.
That being said, you may want to expand your search since you have specific goals in mind. This thread has given you some good information to go on.

Aaron i appreciate it. Thanks for all the information. It has helped me tons and im starting to understand this process a lot more. There really is a lot to it. Again thanks everyone for your honesty and not trashing me to bad...lol
Jeremy, if you are wanting to 'work' one of their dogs....I would make sure that I brought my own knowledgable decoy & took the dog off of his own turf,if at all possible, to get a better idea of what it can do. JMO
Jeremy, I did look at the pedigrees. They are showlines & even at that tons of linebreeding. Many breeding lines can be very good & then when people start linebreeding they can be creating greater incidence of faults like HD. The 'Tommy' line is known for this.
