Is it OK to mention possibilities for other folks?
I would like some ideas, my first one was a miserable failure of confusion and then rolling around on the floor with all four legs in the air.
I wish I would have been recording!!
"Say your prayers" with a chair that's heavy enough not to slide when the dog leans against it. Has to be the right height, too. It's pretty cute and funny. Bob Scott told me about it. (When you say the command the dog puts his forepaws on the chair while in a sit, and rests his head on the forepaws.)
I am trying to teach Zuki to bring me a cup of water... We have yet to see if it is going to complete. The cup is already history and I don't think I will really drink it...A little to much slobber

No no .... you have to drink it. All of it.
Right, rules folks?
Yes, she should definitely have to drink it all! Besides the fact that it's part of the trick, I believe your dog's feelings will be hurt if he goes to all the trouble to bring it, and then you just dump it!
Vashti has started going under my bed and to be able to get under there and back out she has to crawl so I decided to see if I could take advantage of that and teach her crawl. I put a treat under the bed and then after she crawled under to get it I went to the other side and lured her to keep crawling with food while saying crawl. I'm not sure this the best way. I'm afraid she will scrape her back on the bed or something. So, Aaron I tried this way with my legs but must not understand how I am supposed to be sitting. I sat down on the floor and bent both legs and had her down on one side and tried to lure her with the food through however she put her head under and then got up and came around to the other side where the food was. Am I supposed to be more in bended knee so there is more room for her to crawl through?
Then one more; any ideas on how to get her paws on top of her head? I ask her if she's had a bad day and she will lay down and put her head between her paws but I want to take it a step further and have her put her paws on her head. I've manually placed them there but she hasn't gotten that part of it yet so I'm just wondering if there is a better way to do it.
Fun stuff. Elizabeth, what about one of those sturdier disposable cups with a plastic lid thing. May keep some of the slobber out and water in?
And Lori J, a little piece of slightly irritating tape or a bandaid, strategically placed where you want the foot to go (top of the head). When she lifts her foot and touches to get it off, quickly mark and reward before she gets a chance to remove it. They get excited about the reward and forget about the tape for a second. Then just stand back and wait for her to try again to remove it… mark and reward.
I also learned – don’t introduce a rattly hula hoop when all dogs are present and they’ve never seen one before. I’m sure they thought it was attacking me. Both Vince and Echo quickly grabbed an end and started to pull/destroy. Thank goodness they know “Leave it” and “Down”. That was just the introduction, I can see this jumping through thing is going to take a bit of work.
I will never take a border collie for granted again.
