The imam of the proposed mosque was quoted after 9-11 as saying basically that The United States was to blame for Bin Laden and that we brought on the attacks ourselves, that we are to blame. This imam is not considered an extremist - and yet his positions and statements make me truly fear those that are fanatic.
We cannot forget those who were in the World Trade Center.
You cannot get rid of mosquitoes if you don't clean up the mosquito pond. America needs to be a shining light in the world, lead with compassion (and, yes, strength). The world needs young islamic men to live for something (anything) rather than strapping bombs to their chests.
To me Mike, the stories don't relate. The entire country (make that world) is not being impacted by what that one lone crazy man did. Awesome grandma, however.
