				Steve,
The pet store told me that I can buy another Malinois puppy to keep him company ....
While the regulars here understand this as sarcasm, from "pet store" to "another puppy to keep him company," a noob looking for a Mal and not understanding the commitment, the understanding of the breed, the effort and time required every day to do right by such a puppy, may not.

So I will be the dweeb who points it out.

Not intending to ruffle everyones feathers here
riiight lol
Ross, with all due respect, puppies do have needs throughout the work
day, regardless of whether you are home or not. You were quick to tell
Dan he shouldn't have gotten another pup, but at least he is home
to let the pups out... I second the idea of a pet sitter coming in mid day to give your pup a potty break and a small drink of water.

Hey, welcome back, Steve...where ya been, lately?
Ya know, Ross, you think that the stuff you say is funny, it's really not. You make more excuses for what land you don't have, house you don't have $$$$S you don't have, etc etc ertc....it really getting to some of us. If you don't have what it takes to care for a high drive puppy properly, then you know what, you should have left him at the breeder. Your excuses are falling on deaf ears here.
How you can think that it is ok to crate a puppy, all day & then all night without adequate water or exercise during the day. It is very difficult & upsetting for many of us to hear this. For many of us, our lives revolve around our dogs & what's in their best interest, even more so then ours needs. To have high drive dogs is a lifestyle not an afterthoought!

So if you all will excuse me....mine need to be worked.
 MY DOGS...MY RULES

Steve, I have found much comfort in your saying of "If my dog isn't learning, I'm doing something wrong."
So, respecting that and knowing it to be true, I'll refrain from doing what most would, which is to call you a dick and tell you that your attitude is emblematic of why people deign not to post here if and when they have a problem.

Connie, I am not sure that even Steve understood my sarcasm, as he was so quick to make an example out of someone that he obviously forgot the amount of research and questioning I did here before taking Roger home.

Besides, I have an appointment in 6 weeks with a trainer, who's read all kinds of cool books and is fully certified by the APDT. This should solve all my problems.

You've got the wrong guy, Richard. Thats not my phrase. When the people are the problem, they tend to not post anymore. And Ross, where did your research take you that told you to crate a puppy all day with no water?

True, I did say that. And, given my imperfect situation, I wouldn't go getting another dog either.
You make more excuses for what land you don't have, house you don't have $$$$S you don't have, etc etc ertc....it really getting to some of us. If you don't have what it takes to care for a high drive puppy properly, then you know what, you should have left him at the breeder.
Well, I'm very sorry but it's too late for that. I was being sarcastic in the hopes that maybe some humor could be salvaged from this thread, rather than total acrimony.

Since there is no other outcome that can satisfy you or the elder members of this board other than for me to hang my head, return the dog (which isn't going to happen), and tell you all how sorry I am for the offense I have caused, I will head for the exit and deal with these things on my own.

Ross, sarcasm rarely comes across as humor. You can slink off or stick around, open your mind and let us help you with your dog.
