I'mstill feeding some kibble to my 12 yr old IG, she just can't do the bones with her teeth, and grinding it all up is not something I want to do.
But the raw is going GREAT for my ACDx, so easy really.
For emergencies (out of food for a night) I have given them corned beef hash in the can for humans. They thought that was terrific, no odd poop either.
He seems to be doing much better on the red meat formula smaller less runny stool &the gas isn't as bad,but ouch on the price $83.00 for a almost 30lb bag and a 130+ pound dog. O well if it makes him happy
Haven't checked kibble prices in years; but at those prices, raw sure is better, all the way around!!
I'm paying .30 a pound, for raw = bone, muscle meat, organ.
If I had a supplier around to get raw supplies in bulk for cheap I would consider it, every once in awhile I get 25-50 pounds of marrow bones that I use as rewards/chew toys for pretty cheap. Even though with all the considering...my dog looks pretty happy on orijen. Just have to get past that bad gas at first.

Just wanted to add, if marrow bones are cow, weight bearing bones, or any cow, cattle, bones really, are very hard, & hard on teeth; can lead to broken teeth.

That's a very good price/lb! I source my raw locally and I don't think could get near .30/lb...
What's your source, or what's your strategy for sourcing the food?
