Barbara is an example of allowing weak businesses to fail (as you say) your propped up current major car manufacturing industry, your heavily subsidised farm industry that distorts true market value or your banking system that buys n sells stuff it never owned to people that can't afford it to bring the whole rest of the world to a economic collapse, some hard core replublicans have called it "welfare payments for the very rich"
just sayin
Peter, you make my point very well.
Our country begin "propping up" businesses and industries all the way back to the early 1900's. And yes, many banks were selling worthless derivatives, PLUS they were forced by the Gov. to provide loans they normally never would have... None of which would have been happened if true free market principles had been followed.
I absolutely believe in the free market and sure wish we could get back there.
And btw... I'm not a hard core Republican, but if we want to continue to have this "borderline" politial thread open, lets keep red and blue out of it, can we?
Peter,
Hehe, I went to a rich Liberal Arts woman's college for my PA degree during a break in service, I completely stuck out like a sore thumb and I was the very definition of "the guy not to bring home to your parents".
The naivety of pampered rich 18 year old females was shocking for me to see firsthand.
I did however, help to corrupt a significant portion of them.....
oh yeah the "bro" term that was meant in a strict non-commie, purely heterosexual way - just makin it clear
ROFL!!
PA is physician assistant program, gives you a bachelors degree.
It was a logical degree for a Special Forces medic to get, and I didn't want my GI Bill to expire before I could retire.
