Kiersten, you just summed up my thoughts pretty well. I too wonder what would happen in the real world with the animal by-products that are otherwise disposed of in animal feed.
I like the idea of natural, but feel a lot of natural is gone forever. Nothing natural about cars, skyscrapers, or asphalt. It's just the way it is today.
The only thing I disagree on is what I perceive to be a dis-like of McD's that I read in your post.

This has turned into a very interesting thread, with a lot of thoughtful comments from folks. This was started by a person making their very first post today. I'd just like to say welcome to the board, Rich! Come on back and join us. Maybe post an introduction of yourself and your dog(s) in the member bio section?

I'm sure I can think of TONS of subjects other than dogs where more research could yield a better result. I'm sure there are parts of your life you could improve upon, but since they aren't in your current hobbies or interest, you haven't researched them.
Better yet, lets keep it on the subject of dog food instead of getting personal. I'd appreciate it.
Back on the subject of dog food, does anyone here feed live prey?

Not sure how I got personal.
Kelly, maybe you're confusing live with whole or wild.
I think live prey is a terrible idea. I prefer prey animals die quickly and with the least fear possible. Both of which aren't always readily available at the jaws of a dog.

I wasn't confusing the two, I thought you had fed live for some reason. Brain Fart. Now I'm remembering the video's of Turbo chomping on whole carcasses. Whoops!!

No offense taken, hard to recognize the inflection in a bulletin board post.
Mr. Wise - I respect your opinion, but I think the posts have gotten off topic, so I'm going to drop it at this point. You make valid points that are worth contemplating.
It's refreshing to be able to come to a place and be given intelligent feedback, I hope someone learns something from this thread.
