James, "I" believe the clicker is more consistent in the beginning learning simply because it's a consistent sound where "Yes" can vary according to your mood, excitement level, etc.
With that said, switching to "Yes" is a piece of cake once the learning gets going. I do both with both my GSDS but predominantly "Yes" now.
Hmm, wish I would of read this before this weekend. I did marker loading with yes and she picked up on it pretty quickly. I'll be sure and pay attention to my yes's to try and keep them consistent. Thanks Bob
