Totally agree with you Connie, the fact that it has a bad odor would be very concerning to me.
Brianah, how is the dogs weight? Is she maintaining a normal weight?

Yes she examined it, i was there with her sitting on the floor right besides her. She showed me my dogs "lady bits" in detail. Because i had curiously asked her "hey where does the actual PEE come from? Like the inside here?" (yeah i know, i'm getting pretty detailed here now, not to gross you guys out. I apologize.)
My dog had been wearing dog underwear, with a feminine pad placed on the inside during the vet visit.
The feminine pad had all the "sticky, thick, yellow, horrid smelling stuff" all over it.
And my vet also put her finger... Yeah you get it.
She saw it very well.
Then she put my dogs underwear back on, and left the room.
She came back to discuss the results of my dogs urine test.
She said "nothing indicates an infection to me. Blah blah, we can put her on speed for incontinence.. blah blah. Looks like you will need more pairs of dog underwear."
I asked her about the possibility of kidney stones, like one of the past vets said she could possibly have.
And she said "well, we can't operate if there were stones that you speak of."
Then she went on about how lower protein level for older dogs, or dogs with kidney issues..
She then said something like "good luck with your old leaky dog, and remember that just because shes old doesn't mean she cant enjoy life"
She didn't offer the chance i gave her to take the "discharge" that was on her "pad", and send it in for further examination.
I told her i could afford it. Then i was going to take my dog's underwear off and give it to her.
She said "be right back i'm going to get her papers all ready." Then came back in and went on about how old dogs can still enjoy live...
I'm almost nervous now.. could she have had an infection for this long a time and my vet not look into it or treat it? My god, that would be terrible..

I can get pictures of the dog and the "stuff". Or would that be too gross to you guys? Shes laying right beside me..
No change of weight lately, she has been coming with me on my dog walking business, and keeps up with the pups..
She has been sleepy lately, but that could be because she gets sore with the colder weather and all.
She IS old..

Sorry about the weird pic. But you can see shes not too skinny for her age.

No, not gross, but we don't need a link to a photo just now.
I think your first step should be what I mentioned:
I would call back, ask for a vet call returned (not a receptionist), and ask if she observed that the dog had thick, yellow, foul-smelling discharge.
She may say yes, I agree, but .... But what? I would ask, directly, and get a direct answer.
We know what a dog's vaginal discharge looks like .... the big thing right now is that it's yellow and foul-smelling, and to me, this is what I want the vet to agree that she saw, too: thick yellow foul-smelling discharge.
If she did not see this, then maybe the dog needs to return.
If she DID, then I would ask why a thick yellow foul-smelling discharge doesn't suggest infection.
I worry a little that maybe you and the vet aren't clearly communicating, and that maybe one or both of you has a little understandable tendency to go too quickly from item to item.
I'd want a clear answer. Not an answer that leaves you still not understanding.
Make sense?

It might help if you make the call just about the one issue, with pre-made notes, and then writing down the reply.
I know that other things are on your mind, but I'm thinking that one at a time is going to be much better.
And wait for a vet call-back, not a "tell the receptionist and she asks the vet and the receptionist calls you back." So you will probably have to wait, but then you will have a straight answer.
Just my opinion, though.

I forgot to add that on Friday I'll have more time to gather up diet info on both senior bladder incontinence and also seizure disorders.
Plus others here know about these things too.
It's good that you are working to give this beloved girl some excellent golden time.

Alright...Ill give her a call... but, i'm telling you, she clearly saw it. haha!
What do you expect her to think with me calling back to see if she saw what we sat there on the vets floor gawking at..She might think i'm not sane or have memory issues or something..
We were sitting on the floor, gawking at her vaginal "discharge" and talking about her vagina.
Maybe if i go call her and ask her something like "hey, do you remember if that discharge was yellow back then, because its yellow now."
That way when she goes and looks through her notes, she will be able to confirm, it was yellow then. And in turn, i will get my answer!
Then, i don't look like an annoying fool, calling to ask my vet is she took a look at the discharge, that she DID clearly look at.
Alright.. let me know if a pic would help... Shes playing with her kong right beside me right now.
I could always make another appointment, shes due anyways, its been about a month sense her last one.

I might approach the question to the vet in a slightly different way, and just flat out out say something like, I am VERY worried about my dog, I know she is elderly but I'm concerned about this discharge, its thick, yellow, and smelly, can you please explain to me why you don't think its a problem.
You don't have to word yourself exactly like that but I would make sure she knows how concerned you are and that you get an answer that explains her reasoning.
