I have showed this entire post to every single handler in my club. Recommendations of what I should be typing back... I cannot type here.... But I did get a lot of reassurance from a lot of great people.
Have a great day all.
Well, Isn't that just a cool way for a club to unite....reading the LB web board.

Every single handler in the club. Now there's a club with not much going on.

It was a joke, that''s all. It was supposed to be a note of levity, but I see it sounds as snarky as the post that inspired it.
I apologize.

Let's return the thread thread to topic.
Topics, BTW, will yield replies you like and replies you don't agree with. They pretty much never need to (or were meant to) become high-school personal, or all hurt feelings.
There are many things about the topic that bother me, for me, in my own house, where there are multiple dogs. Toys aren't left out for that reason, as well as for other reasons. If there's a chewy or other toy in a crate, no damage will happen.
All jmo, and believe me, this is not personal.

My five dogs don't have any toys. There's a basket of toys kept on a high shelf that belong to me, and I share them frequently with dogs who behave and play nicely with them. But they are mine. Rough play, squabbling, or eyeing somebody else's toy are signals for me to collect my toys and put them away.

My dogs each have a ball outside to play with. When they go out before I get out there...they both sit on the deck staring at the back door with their ball in their mouth waiting for me to come out.....because that is when the fun begins. They rarely ever play with the ball by themselves...they just like to hold them.
About 5 years back they decided that that would squabble about the balls.... I went out took them away & they didn't see them for a couple of days (except when I cam out to play with them) About a month later they tried that again...my reaction was the same...except they lost them for a week. I have never had a problem since. One dog might sometimes drop their ball to go investigate something & the other dog will walk over to their ball.....but they will let it go if the other dog comes back to their ball. Sometimes my male will take my female's ball if she drops it & runs around with it to get her to chase him & play. But he drops it the minute she walks up to him if she doesn't want to play with him. No problems at all. Just so you know...these are very high drive possessive dogs that LOVE their balls & will do anything for them. They are not self rewarded by holding them...since the balls have a very limited satisfaction without me interacting with them.
Also these are 2 dogs that it took almost 2 years before they could be loose together without fighting.
I would not advocate this for everyone with their dogs. But it works for me & my dogs.
I will say that I start out with pups with the same mindset that Tracy stated he does. Then it evolves into what I have after the dogs learn the rules of play & that basically the toys are mine to share with them how I see fit. I have raised 3 w/l GSD pups this way & have also used this with another young adult w/l GSD that I had. But it may not work for everyone.
But no toys in the house.

I have my own club! We regularly meet, walk the woods, we go out to bars, we talk about handling and life troubles. AKA dog buddies who enjoy dogs for sport or training. The occasional non dog person comes along for a walk in the woods or if we go for a drink.
I was beginning to think it WAS me... "Creating this tosser".. Maybe I should be all "I don't allow anything of the sort.. even with my old dog..crate only, nail down water bowl. No CHEWS are given while not confined to crate, to the 13 plus dog.."
Hell maybe I don't give her enough attention, engagement? That's why shes off tossing and jumping around with her chew/toy?
What everybody said i should respond with, was enough to get me kicked off forum if repeated.
All 13 people agreed, with no doubt, that bashing is bashing, I should not be worrying so. Or that I was given bad advice that does not apply to my dog. Yes, some dogs toss things for attention. Some dogs enjoy negative attention, when they are lacking attention and engagement. My dog is not one of them.
Me giving my single dog a chew 3 times a week, in a room with me. Her occasionally tossing it has NOTHING to do with anything but her sheer joy of receiving a chew.
