I love the sense of dry humour of both of you, Becky and Candi. Continue like that and the next animal I'll acquire will be bear. (Or at least a dog who looks like one.)
American Akitas (as opposed to their Japanese cousins) look like BEARS

Not only in size but I believe the Japanese standard for the Akita looks at the dark mask as a fault.

I would take that fault even here the owls know Jazz is a pussycat and not to mess with Domino.. A hawk owl dive bombed Jazz on a skidoo run today, but just looked at Domino when I went by it..it knows don't mess with a woman! Lol!
Speaking of standards, I swear Jazz's legs are getting more bendy, and not in the right way. Show standards suck, the way he stands is horrible to look at, and the way he marches is even worse..

Candy, thanks for the link. What a beatiful, charming, wodnerful, extraordinary, fabulous, funny, cute .... animal! Didn't know how akitas looked like. Ihave immeiately faallen in love with them. Though I was just joking. A fifth dog would overwhelm me, already 4 are much, as I am doing everything with them alone. My hubby is a hopeless lazybone.
But if something should happen to one of my dogs, which I don't hope, I'd think about an Akita. Only problem: the subtropics would probably not be ideal for such a thick-furred bear?

Yes, probably TOO hot & humid for Akita comfort in Brasil -- BUT if you moved to Tierra del Fuego or the Falkland Islands...

Too insane to forbid certain colour patterns! All of them are so beatuiful and sweet.
Good idea, Candi, why not move to the Falklands. Will give it some thoughts!
But how will our short haired Pits be able to live there without suffering? And who knows, maybe they are forbidden there just because they happen to be Pits.
