In response to Mr frost' partner indicating on odor not explosive. Ive found, and witnessed my dog and others would indicate on numerous common items that one would not expect. Would love to trade notes with you.
no problem, I know what it's like to be tired. lol. If you really want to test your dog, take the TSA Certification. It's tough. Probably the toughest certification this side of the pond. I personally known some of the evaluators for the better part of 30 years. They've been in the explosives detector dog training business for a good many years. They know working dogs, and how they should work, and what's possible and not possible. Believe me it's hard to gather the experience they have and the number of dogs they see in a years time.

David,
Thanks for the understanding. Ive heard that the TSA's standards are pretty high and am in the process of really honing my partner's skills. Ive been fortunate enough to have quite a bit of contact with the head TSA honcho at our local airport and Ive learned that he is an ex explosives dog handler. He seems really knowledgeable and has had the opportunity to see my dog work in training and in real life bomb calls. I believe this guy is pretty honest so I took his off the cuff favorable reviews of my dog's performance as a compliment. I know he wasnt just blowing smoke because Ive seen him chastise other dog/handler teams. It appears the extra training is paying off. Sorry about the late reply but had to go to the woods for some R & R as well as give my partner a break.
