Mike, no it´s not the akill/waktah litter I´m talking about. I talked to a breeder who know the dog in personal, serious dog in protection, and responsible for many arrests in his district. I guess good dogs are where you can find them, some pure workinglines are not suited for service either due to breeding only for sport. Sometimes a good dog comes from even a 100% german showbreeding, but if he is the only one in his litter, his breeding value would probably be weak.
Akill is only half show and has many good littermates, so he may be a good choice for a quality working bitch. I guess time will tell.
As to the question about line/in and outbreeding. A geneticist consider a true outcross only if you breed a dog to another breed. If you trace pedigrees far back, you will see that many GSDs have common ancestors, which is part of the problem with todays dogs, to few ancestors and loss of genetic diversity.
Yea, VanCamp I knew it was wrong but couldn't remember how it was spelled. I shouldn't have skipped so much in seventh grade.
So what dogs do the Czech dogs go back to. When did they split. Robby
