From This Site it says the AD stands for Endurance Title. That site has alot of the other abbreviations for titles if that helps.

I'd be interested to know what's involved in getting an AD - my pup's Dam was a Bh AD, and his Sire was IPO1. In fact, I'd also like to know how you would go about getting an IPO1 opposed to an SchH1 - what's the difference?

But ofcourse! I thought thats why we had GSD's... to fetch drinks outta the fridge and chase people away from the front door so we can stay on the couch and watch TV <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> But my oreos seem to go missing between the kitchen and the living room.
ok ok I'll go look for posts on the AD.

Orry SVV2
This dog is $5,500, because of his age. They are supposed to be e-mailing me the pedigree and scorebook and hip scores, but isn't he a pretty dog? He's a Czech import, and the guy I talked to (Jason) said he was a really great dog, pretty laid back as far as temperament until you turn him on, so he should be a good house dog. He also said he was easy to handle, so I shouldn't have a problem with him, and that he does have a good bit of civil drive, so that transitioning him to doing more 'real world' protection work shouldn't be difficult either.
We may go and take a look at him next weekend or the weekend following. SVV2 is the equivalent of a SchII, right?

Why aren't they offering the 3 weeks of training with him as they are with the other dogs? He is a beauty (sables really are the best LOL).

I guess because the others are police k9s. I honestly don't know. He did tell me on the phone that normally a dog with his level of training would go for about $10,000, but because of his age, they had him priced at $5,500. That could be another reason the handler's course isn't included.

Kristen , Never underestimate the love and protection a dog feels for its master, you say your current dog would probably sit there wagging, 99 out of 100 chances if that dog thought you were in serious danger she would attack in such a fierce manner you would wonder what happened to YOUR dog. My dog is the same way yours is, she wags her tail at everyone knows no strangers, but i have no doubt if someone was stupid enough to actually try to get into my house and they werent detered by a GSD sitting there to begin with, they will deserve the Attack they would get, because thats exactly what they would be in for. I didnt believe this until about a month back, as i said she knows NO strangers, however someone was messing around the side of my house and i brought her inside leaving my male GSD outside , and she had a bloody fit trying to get at the door when this person was in my front yard, scared the daylights out of me when she went into her growling and barking fit!
But i understand you wanting a PPD, thats why we got both of out Shepherds, they have no formal training but i have yet to see someone stupid enough to actually cross em.
( Im sorry didnt mean to ramble)

Believe me, you don't ramble. You haven't seen me go on and on yet. lol
I don't know if my dog would do anything or not. She doesn't even bark when someone comes to the door. She's very laid back, and has never shown an ounce of aggression towards anyone, aside from a fear snap once as a puppy.
Before deciding on a shepherd, I even had her evaluated to see if we could train her in protection. She failed. Miserably. Sure, she'll play tug with her rope, but only with me or my husband, and not when she's interested in doing something else.
