I cant say enough about Dr Rice at the Stillwater Vet Clinic in Stillwater MN. He is a reproductive specialist and is great. He is doing a second female this weekend for us. Then Ill probably sit on the rest for another 10 years :-) Today I told him she was going to have the pups today and he told me he used 23 year old semen from a GSD and got a live litter.
This is about the coolest thing I've ever read on a dog forum...thanks so much for sharing this. I hope you'll keep us posted on the puppies and their development, etc. I have seen only a little around artificial insemination in dogs and the the notion of it keeping alive great workings lines is just tremendous.

Thanks for putting into words what I was thinking <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Couldn't agree more!
Congratulations Ed, the pups look great! I can't wait to see them grow up.
Ed, so sorry you lost 2 of the pups <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Once happened to me with one of 3 Himalayan kittens, the mom Himalayan laid on what I thought was the most beautiful one, and it suffocated while I was at work. I know you have probably waited a long time with anticipation and emotional ties to this litter, and I'm sorry you lost 2 of them.
Just posted Week Two photos taken this afternoon of the Natan pups. We will take photos every Friday or Saturday and post the pictures. Thanks for all the nice comments. We appreciate them
Thanks for sharing Nathan's puppies, your a proud papa. Nathan was my dog's great-grandfather. I hope you see your old friend again in his litter. Please keep us posted on their progress, I want to see them grow up. I decided not to breed Haley, after learning all that was involved, and the expertise required. I'll leave that to the pro's. I'll just follow the developement of these puppies, I hope you continue to share the excitement with those who have decided it's best not to breed ourselves.
