i would avoid most people that import titled dogs for breeding, don't work the dogs themselves, just breed and sell. i think a person needs to know a LOT about bloodlines before buying a pup like this, plus they're usually way highpriced for me.
next pup i buy will be from a breeder that's been in the business for a longish while (like 10 yrs+), who trains/titles their own dogs so they know what they produce, who doesn't have a pg on ripoffreport, or a complaint with their local BBB. i know that narrows down options, but i'm ok with that.
breeders that have a pup questionnaire, offer limited registration (ie, unless the pup is titled in a working venue they won't have full AKC reg)--no problem. they at least seem to CARE about what happens to the dogs they breed. but, JMO.
For further clarification (I know you can't tell from the pics I have of him) but my dog's coat is parted at the shoulders which I've read only happens with long coated dogs (not the plush coat).
Denise, if you look up GSD rescues in Georgia, you'll probably find many. Sometimes they have puppies. Several months ago a beautiful working line GSD pup had been surrendered to a rescue at 4 months because she didn't have enough drive for the owner's goals. Check the shelters also. There are literally thousands and thousands of GSDs in rescues and shelters across the country. It's actually heartbreaking. My future goal and desire, when I get some real land, is to adopt the older, senior GSDs, the ones no one wants because of their age, and give them a good life for as long as they live.

I know a couple older dogs that are in need of a home. One is blind in one eye. PM me if you want them. Seriously.
Thank you for the offer. I really would like the kids to have the "fun" experience of having a puppy. You know, the house breaking, the whining at night, the chewing of your personal items if they aren't picked up. Every child should have the opportunity of having a puppy in their childhood and I wouldn't want any of them to say I denied them something so special.
