Jason, she looks wonderful. That look in her eyes in the crate sure says what she thinks of this whole thing. Equivalent to a human's "big bummer!".
I'm always amazed how a dog's attitude toward many different things so often excels ours. I think it's what keeps us sane when something happens to them. They're so great at giving comfort just by the way they deal with things.
What Connie posted above about the aspirin is exactly what I had once read; thinning of the blood which is not reversible in dogs and could potentially cause a problem during a surgery.

Update:
ISIS is feeling a lot better today I can tell.
She really wants to play, she picked up the rag I use for Panzer (my male pup) and looked at me like come on dad just a little tug.
I had her lay in the living room and we worked on "watch" shes going to be able to watch me for an hour after 4-6 weeks of doing this.
I hid some salmon treats under different objects so she could sniff and work at getting to the treat, she really liked that. After about 20 min. she yawned and now shes resting.
Im really concerned about her mental health, she is very high drive.

Keep doing what your doing with her as far as things to keep her mind busy.
Little things like treats in a kong and hiding them like you were already doing are great.
And thanks for the updates, they are great!!!!

Good job!
Once when I had an energetic adult dog recovering from surgery and required to be immobile, I put just about all her food into one of those treat balls and a kong. She was on raw, so I had it ground and fed her in the crate.
That was a pain in the neck, but it did occupy and interest her for big chunks of the day, and it really was no messier than the dish in the crate, where she would drag the backs and necks out anyway.
"Look" is a great idea!

Down but not out!
This is right before I removed her bandage as per the vet's orders.
We had to put an Elizibethean collar on her so she cant get to the sutures. She looks silly and she hates it for obvious reasons.( I might post a picture but if she finds out Ill hear about it!)
And I know someone will comment on the rawhide, trust me I dont let my pups normally have them but one was on the deck and she found it and her big meaty is only out of frame.
She is supposed to get her sutures removed on or about the 23rd of may, I cant wait so I can take her torture device off!
She wants everyone to know that she plans on comming back with a vengence!!!!Muhawhahahahahahah!..dont call it a comeback!

Jason,
She looks absolutely HAPPY.....you must be keeping her well entertained and busy. GREAT JOB!!!
(p.s. I won't say anything about the rawhide, since my GSD pup found one too....he does not chew on it, but rather carries it all over the place. Since I am working on building possession and that is what he has chosen for now, I let him do it. If he lays down to rest he lays it across his paws. He does not get it while in his kennel though.....)

It's so good to see her looking so great. I still don't know how you keep her from running around all over the place! That must be the biggest challenge of all. Other than a leash of course, but even on leash it seems it would be extremely difficult to keep her from bounding around. Do you keep her in a heel when walking her around the house or taking her outside? I'm just trying to imagine how it must be like.
Is she healing super quick or is it normal to take the bandages off 5 days later? I'm curious cause don't know anything about broken bones and healing time in dogs.
