When I first started raw feeding I asked a question about humans getting worms from dogs on a breed specific raw feeding list. It did not provoke the great/fun discussion that the OP got here. Instead I got (exact words):
"Humans can get roundworms from picking up the eggs in soil. So don't eat dirt.
Most other worms are even more difficult to get. For example, if your dog has
fleas -- don't eat them."
Seemed like simple enough advice so I followed it
I enjoy eating a lot and staying thin, so if I have worms, I will keep them thank you very much! (Randy...enjoy them!)
I have heard that wormers are only effective for worms in the GI tract and that most adult dogs that are keeping worms in check actually have them encapsulated in muscle. Wormers have no effect on these worms, but those worms are not a problem anyways.

Probably even more important: Do not eat dog poop.

Ok, now I'm freaked. Freaked cause people are saying not to be freaked if a human has worms wiggling around inside them. Come on guys, are you serious?
When I lived in Costa Rica for a while, I saw a 12 yr old boy throw up a tapeworm. Trust me, you DO NOT WANT that thing inside you. I didn't want to post that, but you all leave me no choice
I'm not afraid of germs and bacteria, but the thought of worms inside me creeps me out BIG time.
P.S. Carol, pm me that chicken and asparagus alfredo recipe.

I bet you've been waiting for your chance to tell someone for years.
I have heard stories of people with large worms exiting their bodies. I don't want them either.
