Egads guys!!! You may be giving people ideas about actually doing that to their dogs. People do it to little dogs what's to stop them from doing to a GSD, for example someone on a 'fluff forum' actually pierces their animals ears so they can wear an earring!

Hey Mike, if you get Lyka all dolled up with matching scarves, mittens, knitted hats for her lil pointy ears and sparkly pink (insulated, lol) nail polish - then maybe we could take it over to one of 'em fluffy chatty forums so you can post pics for us to fawn over
UNF%#*!&*BELIEVABLE! The thread did not get locked, and now LOOK, the chit chat thread is LYKA all pretty in pink. (I did see pics of her once in pink, and, yes, she does wear it well)
We are giving the OP just the kind of board she wants...now she's prolly gonna stay!
Oh, and BTW, if the OP IS reading this, I hope you have taken to heart the things that have been said about this leerburg board being tops for TRUE training information. Focus, focus, focus.

Anna, I feel you deserve all the comments & teasing that you're getting. After ALL the thoughtful and helpful advice you were given for your dog's health issues, it seems highly offensive for you to huff & puff about this place being too stuffy for you and making a grand announcement over your departure.
Why do you think it is that the most knowledgeable and dedicated dog people end up here, and more importantly STAY here?
Think about it... and hopefully you will learn to be more considerate next time.
Foolish to give up such an invaluable resource for your dog, especially over such a trite complaint
Yuko, this could have been plucked directly out of my head.
Now guys, can we PLEASE get back to training? Remember, we are NOT allowed to have free speech or fun of ANY kind on this forum.

That's why you have to sneak it in whenever you can
But don't you see the Catch 22 here? If this thread gets locked, more people will surely be offended. Then those people will start their own snooty abandonment posts, only to result in more witty banter. Then those threads will need to be locked, and thus the cycle keeps going until nobody's left except for me because I'm always the last to know anything.
Besides, we all know Ed is diggin the 5 pages of compliments

I think that is the point Michele. Goes to show the OP that we are human with senses of humour. Not just stuffy Shutzhund people as described by the OP (not that Shutzhund people are stuffy)
Just that as a group we are serious about training our dogs. Not to just conformation (which is useless IMHO) we actually train our dogs to work either in Dogsport, LE, herding, SAR etc = serious training, ones that don't include a brush and hairspray.
I know from being a moderator on other boards (Guitar gear and Hi performance cars) that you need 'rules' in place or it just descends into chaos taking a long slow flush down the toilet.
So with that I'd like to commend the moderators and owners of this board for not letting that happen by having those rules in place (and enforcing them) to protect the integrity of this board. I for one appreciate it!

I want to see pictures of her doing bite work all dolled up.
This forum is just so stuffy I can't stand it. If I could only find some humor here I would be happy. sigh

What, no hairspray? We can't use hairspray now? Geez...
No humor? Huh? Is it that the humor here just isn't "fluffy" enough?

Nah, I think Ed is letting us get it out of our system. Sometimes ya gotta do that.
I will say that she is over on "her new board" and she is actually quite nasty to people so I think it is good she left. (although you can tell from her discussion over there that she is "trolling" here and reading what we are saying..... Hi Anna) And the board she is on is FULL of crap. You could not find a decent thread to save your life. It was all slams, and BS banter about "my dog is better than yours".....sad and unfortunate for the ones that are serious........
She is an stereo-typical show dog person (no offense to anyone here that shows dogs), I know a few people that show and they are really cool, however I helped handle some Malamutes one time at a show and some of the "handlers/owners" were downright rude and irritating. She fits that category.
It is too bad, since she started out seeming as though she wanted to be a part of this board and learn. Glad she is gone really.
