If I had to guess Capone looks like a Standard\Performance\Scott Type American Bulldog. http://www.bulldoginformation.com/american-bulldog-types.html
This is just what I think he resembles and there really no way to know for sure but I thought I would add my 2 cents.
I also think it is too late to have his ears done IMO

I was thinking AB, too. Maybe AmStaff/AB cross. The Staffy's are a little taller, lankier than the PB's, I think, as a rule. And he definitely looks AB in the face and head area.

He is a handsome boy! I would like to add that if he is an AB mix it is with another dog with plenty of white - to me he looks more Dogo Argentino as he is lacking the traditional black eyeliner of most of the max white ABs. Though there are white ABs with no color liner to the eye/just a pink eye rim. The shape and color of his eyes, too, that smaller triangle type eye.
White is recessive to color, breeding even an all white AB to a half white dog would produce plenty of color, you can get an 80% color dog out of two eyepatched whites. I don't think boxer, his muzzle is too long - his conformation from the side, and the flews/jowls/neck suggests Dogo to me
I also agree on the cropping, at this age not a good idea unless you go for a bear/battle crop that leaves next to nothing of the ears and exposes the insides of the ears to too much.

i am actually going to have him "registered" as a dogo.
i am getting a limited registration with the ukc-i rent, and though there isn;t a pit type ban, most landlords don't like the idea of an actual pit bull, btu will take another "type".
If you were just looking at pictures, you would see a white mastiffy dog.
In reality, he is too small, only about 55-60lbs, but there is nothing saying he couldn;t be a dogo mix, so that is what he'll be, though he is likely more of a AB.

I've seen some pretty small dogos, in the 70 pound range, but I don't think Capone is just a Dogo. He could very well be a dogo/AB mix but it would surprise me as most people when buying an AB they go for the more heavy johnson type. The johnson dogs are mostly what you see all over the place, the standard and hybrid/performance type ABs are kept and bred by people that work their dogs. Most of them are catch dogs and have very high drives and they are also of the larger variety, a small standard or hybrid male is 75 pounds, most of them falling in the 80-90 pound working weight range.
Cajun, in my sig pic, is a hybrid/performance type AB that is 75% Johnson bred, he was/is 24" tall and working weight of around 87 pounds, usually around 95.

hahaha, capone has ZERO drive, ha. Or maybe "pet me drive".
he has also spent at least a year on a chain with zero physical activity, so i'm sure with a high quality diet, and being walked/jogged he will look very different. Plus, i plan to swim him after my move is over.
He could either slim down alot, or really bulk up, but in a healthy sense. So i don't know what his weight will end up being.

Agree w/the other Jen, as usual. I see APBT further down the list than AB, Dogo (good call!), etc. I don't see boxer at all. He lacks that definition that most (not all) APBTs have. It's not just lack of activity; this is genetic. Mia is RIPPED, and really is my least active dog. His build just is not Pit, to me. Whatever he is, I'm glad he's with you now...even if you do hack off is precious little floppy ears.

Just curious, are Dogo's common in the US? It would be almost impossible to find a Dogo mix, or just a Dogo here in Canada simply because it is not a common dog here.

By no means common, but not unheard of either. I agree that he LOOKS a bit Dogo-ish, but I wouldn't bet that he actually IS. There are several combos that could produce that look.

ha, i LOVE dogos, more than i love APBTs.
It makes me happy to call him a dogo, or a dogo mix, even if he isn't.
