Really glad to hear that he made it back home.
And to just let people on the board know. In my area of the country people have been known to steal them out of the dog shelters. The shelter near my house actually uses GSD to protect pit bulls. So Mallory don’t blame yourself to much if he wanted your dog bad enough to steal him with you home he would have cut open a kennel.
Locks are only designed to keep honest men honest.
YAY and Congrats! We had a lost rescue pit who I am fostering. She pulled out of her too large Dom collar on a walk. Just thinking that she was out in the neighborhood alone and exposed to danger, theft death etc, killed me. I cannot imagine the panic you must have been in. Now its fence time! With a size of razor wire even.
Did Capone have a microchip? I read the LEO called for a scan, but did Capone have one? If he did, was that the reason there was zero delay in returning him to you Mallory?
yes, he has a microchip, and that is why he got back so fast. all my pets are chipped, except one cat who showed up at my house one day, and i begrudgenly let stick around.
You have me scared now. I keep my dog on a cable/pulley dog run which is visible from the road. That is, until I can get my fence in. Luckily I live in a very safe neighborhood in a courtyard with only 3 other houses, so there is no traffic.
But, I'm always worried about someone nabbing him. I can't keep him locked up in the house all day though, he'd go nuts.
