When I first read what the OP of this thread had to say, I had a vision: Picture it (it helps if you picture it in slo-mo); a cold day, a patch of ice. On one end of the leash wearing only a flat collar, my 98 pound Doberman; on the other, the OP with no treats, determined not to use a prong collar. Now enter......THE SQUIRREL (insert dramatic music here)
Okay, maybe not nice but I've seen my ex take this kind of 'ride' under similar circumstances (with my dog's sire) and he WAS using a prong collar.....and well, it was funny.
Hilarious!
That is the whole reason I had to get a prong collar.
The squirrel and bird chasing on our daily walks!
My GSD is getting bigger and stronger and the choke collar did not work.
I can just picture it...... been there , done that.....
Hilarious..........
Still laughing!

Well, I have been thinking about this.....
I offer my 100lb Bloodhound up for training the "heel" (competition style of course) with no food, no prong, no e-collar....heck NO training aides at all.....well a flat collar and leash is allowable.
Any takers?

As there was no mention of sedation not being allowed, I'm in...
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Under 97, no problem. If Jillian can do it, so can I.
Anything she can do, I can do better! Uh-Oh.. I'm making obscure show tune references.... How bout them Bears!!
This owner was also heard to say:
"I am completely confident that I can get a dog to do whatever I want on leash with a properly fitted buckle collar...." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlbrLCgX97s
