Guess I will have to chime in here too although my job is not nearly as "glamorous" sounding as a lot of you folks!
I've worked as a secretary/admin assistant all of my working life (too many years to count!). Presently I'm at a small 10 person commercial real estate appraisal company in Las Vegas. Before that I was the administrative assistant to the Executive Chef at a major hotel/casino here in Las Vegas for nearly 24 years. When you get to be a certain age, corporate "eliminates" your job (not a fun thing to happen). My hubby worked at the same hotel for 27 years and retired on disability last September. He interacts/trains our two dogs, Nickie & Roxie, while I'm at work all day.
The neat thing about this present job is that we have times during the day when it's not busy and our boss doesn't mind if we "surf the net." Of course I'm on this website every chance I get!
I teach special education in a large school district just over the border in Minnesota. I have worked with all kinds of kids with different disabilities. My sister in law has said that talking to her autistic son is like having to talk to a dog-NOT my words, but it's what seems to be best.
I really enjoy my job and am in the process of getting ready for the school year and just want to see students. Making schedules and paperwork is my least favorite part of the job!
I really like my job, I get to see all sorts of parts of Wisconsin. I get to travel back roads, see neat farms, visit with neat and wierd people, mostly retiredfolks with little to do. I get to make families happy when they see the work I do finished, and sometimes they even shed tears from emotions evoked by memories they have. And sometimes I visit places that make me cringe.
Can anyone guess what I do?
If you guessed Memorial installer your right. I set monuments.
I am a research scientist (cancer vaccines). I have been in science forever, and it suits me. I do some experiments myself, supervise others, and study and write quite a bit. Sometimes I review grants for the government or private philanthropies.
I don't get to work at home, wish I could, but can more or less set my own hours, and sneak a peak at Leerburg at times during the day, since I spend hours every day at the computer.
I don't know if mine counts as a job but... I'm a full time pre-med student at Cornell U., and an Army ROTC Cadet. The ROTC stuff is nice. I get full tuition and monthly stipends just for playing Army "dress up" a few times a week, maxing PT scores and pretending to be hooah hooah, even though I'll just branch Med Corp.
