So, anyone interested in a malin-doodle? Oooo... What a cute name! Will it be both fluffy and curly?!?
The ones that are both fluffy AND curly will cost extra. I'm thinking in the range of $2,000. But get one now because if I figure out a way to make TEACUP Malin-Doodles I'll be asking $5,000 a pop - er, PUP!
Oooooo, you could add a bit of Toy Fox Terrier to achieve the teacup size. Then they'd be Toy malin-foxy-doodles but it might disturb the curly- fluffiness, so maybe you'd better not. BLEH!

I'm in rescue. and it's not pretty. Of my two fosters, one is from a facility with a gas chamber and the other from a place that kills by heartstick.
I'm almost afraid to ask... what is killing by "heartstick?"
Euthanasia by inserting the needle directly into the heart, and injecting the solution.
I just saw a "Yorkie" that was about 3 moths old and barely 1 lb!

That is the kindest, mildest description of heartstick that I have ever read. I will not elaborate on what actually happens (family board!)
In fact, in all the states that use it, it is illegal for them to administer the heartstick without first anesthetizing the animal, because it is so painful. Most shelters however, do not do this. I am glad my foster did not have to go through it.

I was walking my grandads dog recently when he was in hospital. So there I am with my pedigree working line GSD on one side and this skanky elderly male rough (lassie) collie on the other. The collie is aggressive and I muzzle it when I walk it.
This bloke wanders up with a scruffy GSD bitch obvious bad hips from the way she was walking. Judging from my male GSDs reaction she is in heat. The guy says, "Can I mate my dog to yours - I'll give you 50 quid (about $70)? I look at my GSD and the guy says, "No not the Shep - I want to breed her with the collie"
I was a bit confused and asked why he wanted cross-breed pups rather than pure - his answer "They'll look like long coats when they are born and I'll be able to get more money!"
I'll leave you to imagine my response.

Our BYB shepherd had collie mix pups when I was a kid. They didn't look anything like longhaired shepherd pups. They all looked alike. They were tan colored with some white markings, collie shaped faces, and SHORT hair. Honestly, they were ugly puppies, lol. I thought they were adorable at the time. Don't know what they grew up to look like.
That guy would be lucky if they turned out looking like longhair shepherds and not defective smooth collies. I sure hope he doesn't find anyone willing to allow a breeding with his dog ... pure or not o.O

God knows what he was thinking but I have seen a few rough collie shep mixes that have gsd colours but funny shaped faces and rear ends, easy to distinguish the adults but I have seen convincing pups.
It is fairly common to see GSD cross pups being sold as GSD, maybe that's just in england. But at 8 weeks if they are fluffy and black and tan how many pet owners look closely?
Just made me laugh that he bypassed a shep to go to a muzzled dog that was lunging at him.
