OK.... just checking because some brands of Doxycycline have dairy restrictions.
Personally, I feel so strongly about probiotic support during and after an antibiotic protocol that if the dog was on Doxy I would give another (non-dairy) probiotic.
Look for "live" or "active" cultures on the label.
You'll want to give the probiotics between the antibiotics.
Wow what a concept..."Baited-Water". He must have drank like 3-3.5 cups of that stuff. I boiled about half a pound of skinless, boneless chicken breasts in about 5 cups of water and he was slurpin that stuff like it was goin outta style. I didn't give him all of it because I wanted to see how it settled in his stomach. Then I gave him his meds and half a small tub of plain active yogurt...he would have eaten the entire tub, but I wanted to see how his stomach reacts. His stool is getting much better... some texture and some river rocks so I feel much better, as does he. Now he won't go to sleep just wants to play.
OMG...-20C what in the world is that in Farenheit?
I'm so glad he is doing better, getting some liquids in them makes a huge difference. You can mix the broth with the pedialyte for extra hydration
I would give him a little overcooked rice mixed with a bit of the yogurt tomorrow morning, then when you see some solid poo a little of the chicken added into the rice as well.
Did he actually poop out river rocks?!?
If so that might explain the problem, and make me worry about a blockage.
