E.T.A. I got my Springfield XD subcompact when they first came out. I didn't know that it would soon become available in a .40 OOOOOOKAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!! Get off me!
And congratulations....you've increased your personal security by about 1000%.
And then went and fell in love with one of their instructors!
Does that mean I am 2 for 2?
Quote: Will Rambeau
If you live in a place that does not allow law abiding citizens to carry a firearm with a CCW, you're a subject, not a citizen - move to a state that doesn't keep you from exercising your rights.
Now you got me, the whole right as an American part, I live in California after all... Damn, all of it is all good for nothing...
Just start driving North, and don't stop until you see breathtaking mountains, green forests, lakes, rivers and streams, and happy free citizens carrying guns and G-d intended.
Why buy an XD in .45? .40 is plenty good.
If you want a .45, don't pussyfoot around. Buy a 1911 and be done with it.
It isn't illegal in most states, but many counties or cities have ordinances prohibiting the carrying of a CONCEALED collapsable baton.
If you PM me your city and county, I can give you a better idea of where you stand, legally.
Or, just call your local PD and ask.
As far as better/worse than a walking stick, it depends on a couple of factors.
Mainly, your ability to deploy a collapsable baton effectively every time and your hand strength. Some folks who either have weak hands, or suffer from arthritis, have a hard time using an ASP effectively. A good padded-handle version of an ASP helps alleviate the problem, though.
If legal, I would always choose an ASP over a walking stick.
They pack much more punch, and you are less likely to leave a smaller item at home.
